It has been two days. Two days since the madness that happened with Jaxon and I hadn't seen him nor had I seen any of his family members.
Somehow, I had pressed my palms together when the full moon was up and prayed to the moon goddess that it should be that they had died.
I want to wake up one morning and be notified about their deaths.
I want to close my eyes and open them and realise I no longer live in a world where they exist.
Since that day of my supposed wedding, I had despised every one of them like never before. Especially Jaxon.
I hated Jaxon to the point of seeing him in my dreams. He either came to cut off my head or I attempted cutting off his and he would end up cutting off mine.
Jaxon had slowly become my villain in the twinkling of an eye.
As for Veronica, I just pray she sees Jaxon for the psychopath that he was and finds herself a better man. I wish her the best.
A few minutes after I retired to bed, I began to hear the workers run around on the Alpha floor. When I got out of bed and peeped out of my room, I overheard their conversations.
Apparently, the Alpha was back. And, he needed them to run a bath with hot water because of Veronica but, there was no hot water available.
He really came back with Veronica. Had they reconciled? Can't believe this was happening. I would be forced into marriage with Alpha Jaxon and he would cheat on me as much as he wanted.
This was the life I chose for myself. I should live by it.
I can't run away from Jaxon. Rest assured, he would fish me out of any hole I crawl into and tie me down if he had to.
The only option staring right back at me was getting married to Jaxon.
So, if he wanted to get married to me and bring w****s into our matrimonial bed, he should at least, tell me when he was going to bring them to avoid encountering them having s*x at all costs.
I jerked the door open and walked up to Jaxon’s room with a determined gaze. If he wanted to make rules, it was only fair I made mine as well.
As I let my hands settle on his door handle to pull his door open, I heard a sound. Like a slap across the face.
It's funny how Jaxon didn't mind getting slapped by Veronica but he is being authoritative over me.
“Jaxon?! You slapped me?!”
What? Jaxon did the slapping this time? I pressed my ear into the door to have a share of what the conversation held.
“Yes, and I would do it over and over again if you don't stop being a b***h!”
“You are insane! How dare you lay your hands on me. You would pay for this! My dad would—”
“Oh, your dad won't do s**t!”
Jaxon cut Veronica.
“You don't think I know your dad would throw you out of his house if you fail to secure me as your husband?!”
Veronica remained silent which meant his accusations were true.
“That's why you are trying to get rid of Tessa. That's why you trapped me with this child. You want me all to yourself.”
Another silence engulfed the room.
“Oh, you daddy’s girl, afraid to offend daddy, huh?”
“He still loves me, unlike yours who only wants you to bring a baby-making machine to prolong his generation of Alpha.”
Another slap across her face, this time she yelped in pain.
Why the f**k does he keep hurting her with that child in her? Jaxon is such a disgusting madman.
“Don’t you dare speak about my father like that? Now, you would listen to me.”
I heard a shuffle.
“You would keep this child and I will marry Tessa. After my wedding with Tessa, I will continue f*****g you as I please and we would remain like that till I'm sick and tired of you.”
I shuddered in fear. This bastard is such a psychopath.
“I'm not going to be your f*****g whore.”
Veronica spat.
“But, you would. And, it starts now. Lie down.”
My eyes widened.
Does he want to r**e her?
“Don’t f*****g touch me, you son of a b***h!”
Veronica yelled.
I tried to jerk the door open in an attempt to save Veronica but, I heard a loud thud.
I opened the door slightly and peeped into the room.
Veronica had hit Jaxon with a hard substance and he was bleeding.
Soon enough, the bleeding will dry up. That hit wasn't enough.
What could I do to save Veronica?
Jaxon wiped off the blood that had rolled down his face and walked towards Veronica, taking threatening steps.
As I turned around to find someone to save Veronica, I heard Jaxon’s animalistic growl and a slashing sound.
Veronica screamed and screamed until it became weaker and I no longer heard her voice. When I dashed into the room, panting hard, Veronica was on the floor, covered in blood, her lifeless eyes opened and Jaxon had escaped through the window.
At that time, Jaxon’s other family members rushed in to examine the scene.
They all gasped in shock when they saw Veronica’s lifeless body.
Jaxon had killed Veronica.
Her body was ordered to be cleaned up by Jaxon’s father and disposed of into the river.
I stayed in the bedroom shuddering whenever I remembered what had happened.
I had nightmares. I woke up most nights, panting for air.
Jaxon was still missing.
All his family members' efforts to reach him proved to be futile.
Their scents couldn't locate him neither did their cellphones. He had murdered someone in cold blood and fled like the coward he was.
I didn't have anywhere to go. I was an Omega from another pack and when I left the pack, everyone believed I was going to become a Luna so I was no longer registered in their Pack.
If I ever returned, no matter how much I explained the situation to them, they'd throw me out. Then, I’d turn to a rogue.
The thought of becoming a rogue had me shuddering in fear.
So, the only option I had was to stay in a cursed Pack - Silver Bow Pack.
I stayed there and got ordered around. I was more like a worker than someone who was registered with the pack.
And, I honestly don’t blame them. I chose this life. I chose to follow Jaxon and become his Luna.
One morning, which I thought would be like every other day since Jaxon fled, was added to my long list of the worst days of my life.
I got out of bed like any normal day, preparing to do housework.
I was cleaning the kitchen when I suddenly heard a bang and an uproar happening outside.
At first, I ignored it but, it became serious.
It felt like an army of soldiers were outside revolting.
So, I stepped out to take a look.
It was Alpha Landon, the late Veronica’s father.
He came along with an army of pack warriors.
They had no weapon but they had their teeth and claws.
Pack warriors were the strongest in the pack but not stronger than their alphas.
And, Alpha Landon had brought an army.
I didn't need anyone to tell me why he was here.
I knew already by the menacing gaze he cast on Jaxon’s father and his mother.
“To whom do I owe this pleasure?”
Jaxon’s father said, trying to pretend like he wasn't aware of the reason for Alpha Landon’s presence.
“Oh, when I'm done, you won't think it a pleasure any longer.”
Alpha Landon spat out.
“What's going on, Alpha Landon, why are you here with your men?”
Jaxon’s mother tried to keep it casual but even if nobody could tell, I could.
I could notice the anxiety in her tone.
And, the way she pressed her palm together nervously confirmed it.
“My daughter went away two weeks ago and I've not seen her since then. I thought she was probably with that man she always visits, then I got a notice that her body was found by your river bank.”
Alpha Landon spoke maliciously. He wasn't someone that looked like he could c***k a smile in a million years.
“We are not sure of what you are talking about, after Jaxon found his mate and got married to her, he made sure they cut ties with each other. They've not met ever since my son got married.”
I fisted my palm nervously, adjusting comfortably to Jaxon’s father's lie.
“Sure. Then, allow me in, let me trace the smell of my daughter’s blood around this place. If I don't smell it, I will apologise and leave.”
I watch Jaxon’s mother shuddering.
He was an Alpha, an experienced one. He would be able to trace a scent even if it's more than two weeks old.
Jaxon’s mother suddenly moved away from Jaxon’s father as he continued denying him entry and walked closer to me.
“Hey listen, whatever happens from now on, don't say anything, just admit it.”
I frowned. What was she saying now?
“If you try to deny, I will sell you somewhere far away from this place. You would become a slave in an unknown land and would work until you die.”
What is she talking about? God, this is bad!
“So, behave.”
And, immediately she got away to join her husband, Janet, Jaxon’s sister busted out of nowhere, panting hard.
She stands before Alpha Landon.
“Alpha Landon, I know the person who killed your daughter.”
Alpha Landon and everybody including me frowned at Janet. Everyone except Jaxon’s mother. Then, it struck me.
She had asked me to behave.
No. Please, let it not be.
“It's her.”
And, just as I had suspected, Janet’s accusing fingers were pointing at me and everyone looked my way.
