Lucia's point of view
As soon as I came out of the palace, I saw 5 huge demons in front of me destroying all the buildings and facilities they see. I quickly ran in the Corps direction.
"Lucia? You shouldn't be here, your body's still healing" Dark grabbed me right before I could even get to join the Corps.
He's right but I can't help it, I think I should do something for the sake of the City and its people. I maybe unuseful for now, but the Corps is weak without any weapons. I did not respond at him, but instead, I held my blade tightly as the demons growled in anger.
"Protect the unarmed devils away from the demons! Now go!" Avarice shouted as she gave order towards the Corps.
I admire her toughness a lot, she's hundred percent no ordinary soldier.
"Lucia, we will take care of this" Dark once again stated. "Get back inside, now"
As he wants, I came back inside the palace where I left Angelique earlier. Good to see she's still there but I noticed that she's talking to someone.
"What are you doing here Phoenix?!"
"I should be the one asking you that Angelique"
Angelique gasped. I saw how pissed she is right now, probably confused about what's going on just like the way I do.
"What is it?! What really is your fcking reason? What the fck is your reason that you don't want everything to back in normal?!"
"It's not like that" Phoenix avoided Angelique's gaze. "You won't understand me"
"Then make me understand everything!"
A moment of silence came, but afterward, Phoenix decided to talk.
"I am here for a mission" she stated.
Mission?
"I-I am..."
"You're the one who's behind all of this, are you?"
I intruded.
Both of them turned their looks at me, so I slowly walk my way towards them.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked.
"I don't know what you are talking about Lucia"
"You ambushed the troop that was supposed to eliminate the demon that invaded the City, you destroyed the gate that protects the hell from the demons and now you summoned them right here, right now?"
I know I don't have any right to accuse her, but I am so fed up with everything that is happening around me. I badly want, all of the answers. I clenched my fist as she denied all of the accusations, I am also feeling a bit guilty since she's my friend.
"I am only here for one mission" she stated. "So don't worry, as soon as I finished it we can get out of here together"
"Then what truly is that mission?"
"Devil's bride"
Devil's bride? What's that supposed to mean? Is she the bride that they've been looking for?
"W-what about the bride, Phoenix?!" Angelique exclaimed.
"It'll be hard for you to understand everything, we've been a lot through since we were kids. I always tell you things that bother me, and so you do. But the truth is, I have to keep my real identity hidden in order for me to find the secret portal through hell"
I see so that was the book that Angelique discovered.
"Thanks to Angelique I happen to summon myself here, but the thing that's going on behind this place is not my doings and I am certain of it"
I take a deep breath, knowing she's telling us the truth. I don't know that she keeps secrets, but I knew it whether she tells truth or lies.
"But I have only one mission" she looked around the Hall and stopped when she saw the throne behind us.
"And that is to kill the devil's bride"
Killea's point of view
Both me and Bliss are currently driving our way back to the headquarters since Prince Death told us to head back for our own safety. I felt a little awkward at the situation because my colleague is not quite fine at the moment.
"Everything's gonna be fine"
I know for the main time it's not, but there's a part of me that says I shouldn't dig too much cause it will only cause her pain.
Bliss did not respond to me, instead, she just rested her head at the window and stared on the horizon.
She's been through a lot since the last million years Ash left, she's always asking herself what made him left her. Why's she not enough, and why Ash can't fight for their love.
I know my perspective is kinda dramatic right now, but I want to open up her pain.
Both her and Ash had been a great couple, they were like the perfect pair that you never saw your entire life.
But the late old devil's bride had been killed by an Archangel right before she could even get married to Death and it caused all of the devils to mourn. They needed to leave in order for the bride to be reborn because it was written at the prophecy that the Divine Virgin will only return without Lucifer's blood.
The day came when Ash needed to left everything behind, choosing between Bliss or his position as the Prince.
And so he chose to left, without leaving any single word for her.
Hundred years passed, Dark and Cloud came back. But since the bride is not yet reborn they still needed to wait.
Now that they are here, every one of us knew that the bride has returned.
But the thing between Bliss and Ash, I think it's not.
Lucia's point of view
"She's fcking crazy!" Angelique exclaimed as both of us reached home.
We managed to head back home as soon as the demons got eliminated, we can't butt in our asses at the princes for the moment since Angelique had sinned to Prince of Wrath and Phoenix had her escape after our conversation.
But after what she said earlier? Questions are starting to pop out inside my head.
"How can she say something like that? Killing the bride? Is she some sort of a fcking exorcist?!"
A mission?
No matter how unbelievable what Phoenix said, I know she's just following orders. But for who? And why?
And aside from that, the fact that she denied all of the suspicious events happening here in hell, another question keeps bugging my mind of who on earth is the one doing it?
Who is the traitor?
And who is the bride?
Is it someone I know? Or is it someone I don't?
