Lucia's point of view
"Et tres ex illis reditum ad humanum mundi faciam confidenter" Phoenix said while she's reading the book Angelique handed her.
"What does that mean?"
"It says that the three of them got back to the human world safely" she translated. "And it says here" she continued as Phoenix saw the remaining last words in it. "That the only thing, Lucia thought after that was the very last moment she saw the love of her life"
"The fck that's so cheesy" Angelique chuckled. "But in fairness, the story was good and a little cliffhanger. It gives me chills, literal chills but isn't it weird that our names were actually written in the book?"
That's also what's on my mind. I felt a shiver down my spine.
"Maybe, Phoenix changed the character's name into ours so that it's intense, noh? Since we don't actually know the language it's self" Angelique said while pointing, accusing our friend.
I looked at Phoenix who's brows had furrowed after hearing her.
The school bell rang before she could even say any comments, so we decided to leave the library and take our very own classes. I don't understand what's going on with that book, maybe I should just let it go because it was just a coincidence. The story was quite unbelievable after all, devils? Demons? Angels? Hell?
You're kidding me.
As I entered the class I suppose I'm into, a guy suddenly blocks my way causing me to raise my head to see who he is, it was Genesis Flores. My classmate in Physics.
I rolled my eyes at him so he immediately chuckled and patted my head.
"You really are tiny"
"Get lost" I respond and shoved my head at the desk as I sat down.
Actually, his seat is just in front of me ao he often annoys me a lot with his usual bullying to my height. I don't know what's up with him but he's hundred percent getting into my nerves.
"Eh? What was that?"
I looked at him in confusion and saw his face staring somewhere outside the window. I also took a look outside but I did not see anything suspicious, just a bunch of students walking in this hour.
"I swear I saw something" he said.
I ignored him and opened some random book inside my bag, I can't take this anymore. I am not unfriendly but he's just way more too absurd.
Minutes after the class had started, and it was just a normal lecture in physics since we don't have any laboratory schedule for today. I swear I love science, but everything is just going boring lately. Thankfully it ended faster than I'd expected, so I quickly got out of the room but to my surprise, Genesis grabbed me and keeps bugging me about having lunch together.
"I'm sorry, I'm having lunch with my friends so I can't" I stated and quickly walk away but he still keeps on following me.
"Can I join?" he asked while grinning.
I just shook my head. "Whatever"
This is insane.
As I got to the cafeteria, both Angelique and Phoenix were staring at me and Genesis with a questionable look. Even I, don't know what's going on with him.
Did I mention earlier that he is Angelique's 13th ex-boyfriend? Lol.
"Let's eat. I'm hungry" I stated and go to the counter.
The three of them followed me and ordered something to eat, mine was just a burger and a soda while Phoenix had some rice and stake. Angelique, on the other hand, ordered a burger, chicken nugget, hotdog, cupcake, and rice. Genesis just took some drinks and quickly headed back to our table.
Everything is fine and at ease, we were eating peacefully without having any conversation when Genesis suddenly stood up touching his arm with a trace of pain and confusion on his face.
The three of us stared at him and asked what's wrong.
He looked at his arm and to his hands which is now covered with blood, other students started to scream in shock with the blood spilling on his shirt.
I immediately run beside him and grabbed my handkerchief to put some pressure on his wound, I took a look around the area and I got no idea where he get this from.
"Come on! Tell the teachers there's an emergency here, call an ambulance!" I shouted through the crowd.
"Breath, everything's gonna be fine" I comforted him as soon as he starts breathing uneasily.
I let him lie down on the floor as the wound starts to severely bleed. The human body has plenty of big arteries and veins in your arms that needs to stay intact for you to stay alive, a good thing I have a tourniquet inside my bag so I quickly tie it 4 inches above the wound.
Phoenix on the other hand searched the whole area for any possibilities to catch the culprit while Angelique called 911 beside me.
Fortunately, after minutes of waiting, help came so Genesis got delivered immediately to the hospital after the incident. I did not bother to come with him, since they don't need my help anymore. So I was left alone sighing at the cafeteria, confused about the weird things happening around me.
After the incident, the principal decided to send us home early for our safety. They're searching for CCTV cameras and evidence to find the culprit behind this.
And here I am, also thirsty for justice.
"What the heck was that, if it weren't for Lucia that bastard could've been dead right now" Angelique taked a deep breath. "You really are a future doctor"
"I'm a biologist, not a doctor, and what I did earlier was first aid. So that's a basic thing you should know"
"Duh, like I would save him?!" she pouted. "I didn't even hear any gunshots or anything suspicious?!"
She's right, everything happened quickly that no one between us noticed. Is there a hundred percent possibility that the culprit used a silencer or suppressor?
"Is it a sniper?!" Angelique shouted while hugging her pillow tightly.
"That's not possible" this time, it was Phoenix. "If the culprit is far away outside the cafeteria while using a sniper, we were surrounded by glass walls earlier so it should've broken if that's the case"
"Then, they used a sniper inside the cafeteria?"
"Are you stupid? Everyone should've noticed then" I stated which makes her pout.
I'm not a gun expert or something, but as far as I know, a silencer isn't really making a gunshot silent, maybe on a scale of 1-40 decibels? It's 30, just like a whisper. If the culprit is millimeters near us we could've heard something suspicious but we did not.
But who could it be?

The day after police officers interviewed us, the three of us decided to visit Genesis in the hospital. Though, Angelique doesn't want to but she just let it all go. Unfortunately, visitors can't see him in the main time for safety purposes.
I saw a police officer outside his room so I approached them.
"Excuse me sir" I stated. "Are you the one investigating the incident that happened at school?"
"Yes" he answered. "Chief of police Rexen Lowell" lent his hand towards me.
I quickly took it and shook my hands with him.
"Are you some sort of witnesses? A friend?"
"We're classmates of the victim sir" I answered. "We happened to be there at the crime the moment it happened, but we've done our interview sir so no need to worry about it"
"Unfortunately, no one seems to notice the culprit, not even us" Phoenix inserted.
"Hmm," the chief of police massage his temples and stared blankly at the walls. "We did not see anything on the CCTV cameras either"
Angelique grab me for a moment and whispered.
"What if it's a ghost?"
I glared at her and she just pouted.
"Chief of police Rexen?" A woman suddenly called out wearing a lab gown holding a plastic bag with a bullet on it. "I am Cheska Joules, in charge of the forensic lab. Here's the result of the forensic investigation about the bullet, I recovered some words sculpted on it"
Words sculpted?
Sir Rexen quickly took it and examined the bullet without removing it inside the plastic bag.
"Isn't that a Japanese hiragana?" Phoenix stated.
"Yes" Ms. Cheska agreed. "It's actually a Japanese name"
Japanese name?
"Then what does this mean?" Sir Rexen asked.
"Hanako-san" Cheska continued.
"Wait- Hanako-san? Isn't that a bit familiar?!" Angelique said while thinking critically.
"It's Japanese Urban Legend" Phoenix said.
