Nicholas's Point Of View
'You're just going to leave again? What happened to us?', Rose gestured between her and I.
I looked into her eyes before lying.
'The 'us' you're talking about never existed.'
The look on her face was something I never want to see again.
I'm sorry, Rose.
Jonathan might be right.
And if he is... I'll never forgive myself.
She took a few steps forward, my face right in front of hers now.
'Tell me you don't feel anything, that everything that happened was a mistake.'
She desperately pulled me towards her by my neck. My eyes widened before her lips gently pressed against mine.
This is surprising.
I kissed her back hungrily. It'll be the last time I kiss her.
It felt amazing.
This is what I need. This is what I want.
You need Rose, Nicholas.
No, you don't, it's just infatuation. You'll get hurt again, she'll get hrut again.
She pulled back with a slight smile on her face, but mine was devoid of any emotion. I stepped away from her, one hand in my pocket and the other one swinging by my side. I licked his lips after which I said,
'I don't feel anything, everything that happened was a mistake.'
11 pm
I can't believe I just did that.
If it's just infatuation why the hell are you still contemplating about it
I just can't hurt her or myself anymore.
I guess she's going to find someone else to comfort her now.
But I want to be there for her, I want to hold her and say it's okay.
It's definitely not just infatuation.
I just hope she's okay.
Has that prick Jonathan gone to 'cheer her up' again?
After what he just said, I don't think so.
Then who could she be with...?
'Urgh!', I ran my fingers through my hair in frustration and made my way back to the club.
I pushed my way through the masses and found our table.
I couldn't recognise anyone. Ducking in and out of the crowd, my eyes were searching for her brown ones.
Am I going insane?
I couldn't see Rose, Jonathan, Jay or Jason anywhere. But I did spot Tiana.
'Tiana! Where's Rose?'
'Didn't you just walk out on her?', she bitchily asked.
'Just tell me where she is, I'm worried!', I yelled over the music.
'I don't know, okay?! She didn't come back! She's probably with Kai!', Tiana said and turned around to continue dancing with her friends.
KAI?
12:30 am
Panting, trying to catch my breath, I stood in front of the door that read 304. I pressed my ear to the door and heard muted voices from the inside.
I can't believe Rose would-
Just then I heard a female giggling at someone. I later recognised Kai yelling and laughing loudly at something.
Sounds like they're having fun.
Wiping the sweat from my forehead I decided to turn around.
How many times are you going to hurt yourself?
No. This is the last time. They need to feel what I'm feeling.
My finger dug into the door bell button involuntarily.
As soon as I heard the click of the door, my head snapped to the person in front of me.
Without a moment of thinking, I was on him, pounding him.
I want your head to bore a hole into the ground.
Feel what I feel, Kai.
A crack was heard when I jabbed the centre of his face.
I just broke your pretty nose.
Let's see how Rose likes you now.
Smiling down at the groaning man beneath me, I stood up, looking around for Rose.
But she wasn't there. Instead, another female stood witness to the scene. She shrieked, looking at the blood on my hands and the limp body at my feet.
Bree?
'WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?', she screamed.
Her eyes darted around the room searching for something.
Her phone to call the police?
An object to protect herself against me?
'Where the f**k is Rose?', my voice deep enough send chills down anyone's spine.
I was walking up to her as she took slow steps backwards.
'H-How would I know?', she said trying to cover her body.
Were Bree and Kai about to...?
'I thought he liked Rose? What the f**k is this?', I was screaming now, gesturing to Bree's disrobed form.
'You're wrong.', a voice sounded from behind me.
Before I could turn around, Kai had me in a chokehold, almost lifting me above the ground.
'I f*****g loved her, Nicholas.', he whispered in my ear as I struggled to get out of his hold, 'But she didn't want anything to do with me anymore. I thought it was because of that bastard, Jonathan, but my baby Bree here, tells me it's you.'
He let go of me and I dropped to my knees, wheezing, trying to catch my breath.
'Now, what Rose sees in you, I honestly cannot fathom. It isn't worth my time anyway.', he says, pinching the bridge of his nose.
'I thought I actually liked you Nicholas, but turns out you were screwing that w***e, Rose, the entire time!', Bree spoke up.
Look who finally gained their confidence.
'Listen, b***h, if anyone's the w***e, it's definitely you.', I said, standing up to face the two imbeciles, 'Nothing the two of you do will ever affect Rose and I.'
Kai laughed.
'Rose and you? You two would have to be able to handle each other first.'
What does that mean?
'Oh, she hasn't told you? I guess she's only trusted me enough with her secrets. Let me tell you, she has a lot of them. How will you explain my broken nose to her? You don't go punching everyone now do you, Nicholas? Because, if so, you'll most definitely remind Rose of someone very dear to her.', he smugly smiled at me.
'Aw, both her daddies are so similar!', Bree remarked.
What the f**k?
Fuming, I balled my hands into fists. Kai just stared back at me, smiling, like he won.
How I want to wipe that smile off your face, Kai Basque.
And how I'm totally going to do it.
I stiffly turned to Bree.
'Get out.', I said to her.
'Um, no-'
'Bree,', I said, walking up to Kai.
'You better,', with one quick move I dragged him by his collar, throwing him onto his glass coffee table.
'Get out.'
The table shattered as Kai hit it, face first. Bree grabbed a coat off the couch and ran out the door before she had to watch any more.
Growling, Kai stood up and ran towards me. He stopped my punch with one hand and socked my jaw, knocking me to the ground. I kicked his shin, making him drop to the ground too, howling in pain.
'Weak.', I scoffed.
Grabbing him by his collar, I dragged him toward the balcony. Holding him against the edge, I shook him, forcefully.
'Where the hell is Rose?!', I yelled in his face.
'I don't know.', he said, afraid I might drop him down ten storeys.
I pushed him further beyond the edge.
'I SWEAR I DONT KNOW!', he said, 'I left the party and Bree came here, I didn't see Rose after I left, I promise.'
I stood still, staring at his face for any signs that he might be lying.
Throwing him back into his apartment, he fell on his knees. I walked past him and out the door, wiping the blood dripping down my face.
