I couldn’t sleep. I tossed and turned, back and forth, back and forth. Suddenly, everything felt off. The bed didn’t feel right, but I had tried the couch nearby, even the chair beside it. I even attempted the floor. Everything just felt strangely wrong.

There it was, I realized as I sat up. Now that I knew Phoenix wanted me as his mate, my instincts, my wolf, everything inside me begged to be in his bed, at his side, as we should be.
