New Student!?

The drive to school was quiet, not that I was in the mood to talk anyway. My mind kept going back to that note I found in my bathroom earlier. Who could it be from? Besides my sister, her Mom and I; there is our cook Mable Lewinsky and three housekeepers: Janice Barlow, Camille Solomon and Telia Kingsley, living in our house. This note has to be from one of them, and I’m gonna find out which one...I need to know what it means because the more I think about it, the more my dreams make sense...which makes absolutely no damn sense to me. I was so lost in thought once more that I almost didn’t notice that Emma had pulled into the School’s near empty parking lot. The only other cars were those of her teammates and their quiz coach, Mr. Pierlant. At least I can look forward to seeing someone right now. I tried opening the car door, but it wouldn't budge, "What the hell, Emma?" "You're still upset, I know..." She started to say, but I cut her off before she could get any further. "Yeah? No s**t. What gave it away?" With sarcasm dripping off that sentence, she looked at me defeated. "Brielle, can we please talk about this?" She begged me, but I wasn't having any of it. "Save it Em, besides, you're late." I said that last part using my head to gesture to one her teammates, Katherine Wormwood, who was waving at the car from the School's main entrance. She sighed heavily, looking out over the school yard toward Katherine, who was now bounding her way over to us. "Can we talk about this later, please?" She asked me in that pitiful voice that almost had me giving in. “Sure, whatever, just...open the damn door." I replied a little agitated. With a final look she released the locks, and as soon as she released them, I released myself... Katherine, who's now standing just outside of Emma's car, waved at me, "Good morning Brielle..." she started in her usual cheerful voice, but paused when she saw the look on my face. "...is everything okay?" She asked cautiously. "Just peachy." I answered and walked away, just as Emma emerged from her car. "Brielle, you forgot your breakfast." Emma called after me, by then I was at the bottom of the steps to go inside. "I'm not hungry, your highness." I called back over my shoulder as I disappeared into the building. Only one person can make me feel better right now, even if it’s just for a few minutes... Emma's P.O.V "O...kay, what's wrong with her?" Katherine, my teammate, asked me after my older sister Brielle left. "Let's just get inside before Mr. Pierlant comes looking for us." I changed the subject. At the mention of our Quiz coaches name, she gasped, grabbed my arm and started speed-walking to get inside. "That reminds me, let's go. You've been late enough this week as it is." "Ugh, don't remind me. Can you believe he threatened to take my Co-Captain position away?" She looked at me as if she wanted to say something, but she didn’t. “Kat?” I questioned with a raised eyebrow. “Helena's the one pushing it.” She blurted out, to which my eyes grew wide, “What! And you knew about this!?” I questioned before I could stop myself, my eyes changing to my wolf’s in my fit of anger. She immediately backed away from me, then added, “She’s been in Mr. Pierlant's ear all week, talking about how neglectful you have become and the team needs better and all that...I didn’t think he’d actually listen to her...” She held her head down as a sign of shame. “I’m sorry for not telling you sooner.” Now I feel bad for scaring her, “No, it’s okay, the important thing is that I know now. And hey...” I looked her in the eyes, “...Don’t let this happen again, okay?” She nodded her head, “ Okay, Beta.” “Oh and...remember not to call me that in front of Brielle.” I told her, to which she nodded her head again. I shook my head at her Omega behaviour and kept on walking. I knew better than to think of Helena as a threat, but I couldn’t stop myself from thinking about her. Helena Stockholm, another one of my teammates; pretty blonde with big boobs, a bigger ass and a big empty brain. How she got on the quiz team is no mystery to anyone...her Daddy bought her a seat so she could ‘look’ smart...now the little runt wants to take my spot...not on her life. Right as we were about to turn down the corridor that leads to the quiz room, Jared, the Captain and the only guy on our team, called after us. “Hey, Emma, Kat, wait up.” “Good Morning Jared.” Kat greeted him in that dreamy voice she gets whenever she sees him, our little episode already forgotten. But when he greeted us, there was no sign of his usual brilliant smile, which would indicate to me that he was with my sister this morning. “Morning Kat, Morning Emma.” His tone along with the look on his face had Kat's flirtatious smile disappearing rather slowly. “Good morning Jared, I assume you saw her?” I asked him cautiously, dreading his answer. It’s not that I’m scared of him, but, he is the next Alpha of the strongest and most vicious pack in this region, I might be a Beta, but our pack is not even half as strong as theirs. So yeah, I’m dreading the answer of my sister’s big bad Alpha boyfriend...funny thing is, she doesn’t even know he’s a werewolf. Heck, she doesn’t even know werewolves exist. “Oh I saw her...” he said staring me down. “...And I didn’t like it. Now I don’t care what it is you did this time...fix it. Because you sure as hell don’t want me to.” Katherine stepped behind me and held my upper arm. The movement had Jared’s eyes shifting to her, then back to me. “Fix it.” He repeated, placing a sympathy hand on Kat's shoulder to ease her Omega. “I'm trying.” I replied. “Not hard enough.” He threw back at me, then walked ahead of us toward the quiz room. He opened the door with his Captain’s key and we could not believe our eyes... Jared's P.O.V I’ve just finished my morning workout in the school’s private athletic gym and made my way to the guy’s locker room to freshen up. After taking a much needed shower, I went to my locker to get dressed and not long after, I sensed her. And she was not in a good mood. I threw on a pair of jeans and a black V-neck tee, just as she entered the locker room. I could hear the distress in her breathing, feel the tension from the energy she’s pushing off. The moment she turned the corner to where my locker is, I opened my arms for her to walk right into them...and that she did. She wrapped her arms around me tightly and stuffed her head in the crook of my neck. I brought my hands around her and began rubbing soothing circles in her back to help calm her down. I knew all she needed was for me to just hold her, she’ll spill when she’s calm. After a minute or two of just comforting her, her grip on me relaxed a little bit and she let out a long, shaky breath. “I had that dream again...” She said a little above a whisper. I wanted to reply but I sensed there was more she wanted to say. “...It didn’t end as usual.” She added. “Do you wanna talk about it? I mean, I know I don’t have much time before my practice sesh, but, you know I’ll always make time for you.” She raised her head from its resting spot in my neck and gave me a small smile. It’s not the brilliant smile I’m used to, but...I’ll take it. “I know...” She took a deep breath and delved into the additional events of her dream. I already knew most of it, heck she’s been having that same dream for about 3 weeks now. When she relayed the part about the white woman with long white hair and a ‘huge wolf', I couldn’t help but get a little uncomfortable. See, don’t get me wrong, Brielle is my girlfriend, and I love her to death, but...I was sworn to secrecy by her sister and step-mother to never mention anything about what we are. It tears me apart to not be able to share myself with her completely, hiding what I truly am from her is the hardest thing I’ve ever had the displeasure of doing... “Jared? Are you listening?” She asked, yanking me out of my thoughts. “Uh, yeah, of course I’m listening.” I answered, shaking my head a little to dispel the lingering thoughts. She gave me a look with a raised brow, and I couldn’t help but look down. Those eyes do something to me that I’ll never understand. She dismissed that and took a piece of paper out of her bag. “I found this in my bathroom this morning...it fell out of my towel.” I looked her in the eyes, concern written all over my face. I gingerly took the paper, unfolded it to reveal the phrase ‘REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE', “Remember who you are? What is it supposed to mean? Do you have any idea who left it there?” I asked. “I have no idea what it’s supposed to mean, and no I don’t have a clue who left it there...yet. It would be easy to say it’s one of the housekeepers, but, why a note? Why not just say it to...” The alarm on my wristwatch goes off, signalling that I have 5 minutes to get to my practice sesh. With a grimace, I shut off the alarm, while peeking at her with my head held down. She let out a heavy sigh and rolled her eyes. “Babe, I’m sorry...” She put up her hand and shook her head to stop me from finishing that sentence. “It's...fine, don’t worry about it. Go. I don’t want you to be late either.” She promptly mumbled, then turned to leave. I caught hold of her upper arm before she could walk away, “Hey, don’t do that to me...” I turned her to face me, slipped my hand around her waist and brought her closer. “...I’d spend every waking moment with you if I could, you know that.” She nodded her answer, but that wasn’t very convincing to me. My hands came up to rest on both sides of her face, I placed a lingering kiss on her lips, then rest my forehead against hers. “I gotta go, but I'll come find you after practice, okay.” I looked at her expectantly. “Okay.” She murmured, but I pretended I didn’t hear her. “What was that?” I asked, tickling her sides. She laughed so hard, she almost doubled over...lucky thing I was holding her. “Jared!...Stop!...Ahhhh! I said okay!” She shouted it this time, a smile lingering on her face after all that. I traced her jawline with my thumb, “There’s the smile I’ve been looking forward to all morning.” She blushed and tried to hide her face from me, but I held it in place so I could steal a kiss. She wrapped her arms around my waist and held me closer, “I love you Jared...even if you are hiding things from me.” I opened my mouth to answer, no words came out. She turned and left me standing in the locker room with my mouth agape. I gathered my bearings and left for the quiz room, it wasn’t long before I saw Emma and Kat walking up ahead, “Hey Emma, Kat, wait up.” I jogged up to them, trying to sort out what to say to Emma in my head when Kat greeted me, “Good morning Jared.” I wanted to keep my cool as much as I could, but when it comes to Brielle, it takes absolutely nothing for me to lose it. “Morning Kat, Morning Emma.” It came off a little hostile, but I didn’t really care. “Good morning Jared, I assume you saw her?” The look on her face tells me she knew my answer and she was not ready for it. “Oh I saw her...” I told her, starting her down “...And I didn’t like it. Now I don’t care what it is you did this time...fix it. Because you sure as hell don’t want me to.” I don’t normally act like this, but just the thought of Brielle being upset because of her younger sister's ‘everything is mine' attitude, tips me over the edge. I noticed Kat taking a hold of Emma's arm and hiding behind her which forced me to calm myself down. “Fix it.” I said with finality, after which I gave Kat a reassuring squeeze on her shoulder to calm her Omega. “I’m trying.” She replied. “Not hard enough.” I threw back at her and walked ahead of them to the room. Upon opening the door, a not so surprising sight hit us... “OH MY GOD! MR. PIERLANT!?” Kat cried out upon seeing our quiz coach balls deep inside that dumb blonde, Helena. “You scheming little slut.” That was all Emma said while shaking her head. They both scrambled to get themselves together after being caught red-handed. “What are you doing, Kat? Put away that phone.” I heard the coach yell, and for the first time, we noticed that Kat had her phone out, recording the events taking place in front of us. “This...Mr. Pierlant is evidence and leverage...” Emma started, pointing at Kat's phone with a smug smirk on her face. “I'll give you anything, just please don’t use that video.” He cried, begging her. “Ugh, you’re begging her. You’re a teacher for crying out loud. You can order her to give it you or something...” Helena round on Mr. Pierlant. “You better not use that footage you little b***h, or my father will have you dealt with.” She threatened Emma I could put a stop to this with one word, but I really didn’t feel like it. He deserved it for falling into this stupid trap with Helena. A student at that. Emma and Kat seemed to be having fun making Mr. Pierlant and Helena beg, I on the other hand, needed to be somewhere else, with someone else... BRIELLE'S P.O.V. After I left Jared in the locker room, I went out to the courtyard nearest to it, which is the west courtyard. The school has about 3 of them; west, east and central. That’s where everyone would meet up for lunch, study groups or whatever the hell else. I’ve been coming here for the past week. I don’t know what it is, but being here gives me a certain calm I never thought I’d find here. Well, until everyone is at school anyway. My mind drifts back to the note, which lead me to take it out so I could inspect it properly. The handwriting isn’t from anyone I know, and it’s driving me crazy not knowing who put this note in my bathroom. As for what it says, that in itself is another puzzle. Who am I supposed to be, if not me? Ugh, this stupid note. I re-folded it and shoved it back in my bag, rather annoyed. I didn’t see the person coming up on my left, until, “I would not like to be whatever it is you’re mad at.” The stranger said. I turned with a start, only for my breath to hitch in my throat. His eyes were a piercing deep green, above a straight nose and full lips; all of which were sitting on a face one can say was carved by angels. I’d say he’s about 6ft and some inches tall, body type suggests that he must be an athlete. Come to think of it, I know almost everyone here and he doesn’t look familiar to me at all. But yet still, I feel like I’ve known him all my life. How is that possible? He approached me cautiously with his hands raised in surrender, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” He said with a small smile. “Um, no it’s okay. I...I thought I was the only one out here.” The words came out clumsily, as I was a little lost in his eyes. ‘What the hell is wrong with me?’ I gave my head a little shake, “Have we met before? I have the strangest feeling that we know each other.” I inquired. He chuckled, “Trust me, if we met before, there is no way in hell I'd forget.” He stretched his hand out toward me, “I’m Dainthon.” “Dainthon? That’s a nice name...unusual, but nice.” I stated and took his hand in a handshake. The moment I closed my hand over his, it’s like I grabbed a raw electrical wire. ‘gasp’ The intense look he had in his eyes told me he felt it too, but what did it mean? “I’m um, I- I'm Brielle, uh Gabriella.” “Gabriella...I like it.” He replied little above a whisper, with my hand still in his grasp. I tried to pull my hand from his, but he held it a little tighter before reluctantly letting it go. “You don’t attend this school, do you?” I asked him. He let out a small laugh, “Nothing gets past you, does it? But to answer your question...yes, as a matter of fact, I do attend this school?” “Then how is it that I’ve never seen you before?” I interrogated. “Well, maybe because it’s my first day.” He answered with a chuckle. “You really don’t let anything get past you, do you? I rolled my eyes, but couldn’t help the smile that crept across my face. “No, I don’t...so seriously, what are you doing here?” He was full-on laughing this time, “I’m serious, I’m the new student.” Three months until school is out and we have a new student...
