CHAPTER 5It did not take Maddox long to revert back to her usual behaviour after Jarin arrived home. Sure she was gushy when others were around but back home by themselves she was cold and spiteful. It began the following morning when she held up a copy of the newspaper that had an article about the rescue and close up photograph of Alina and himself. "Quite a sexy b***h isn't she?" Jarin glanced at her over the kitchen table. "And your point. Maddox?" "So you arranged to meet her at that so-called lawyers retreat and by the merest coincident just happened to find a hut to stay in after that raft tipped over." She stood there with her hands on her hips. "Good for a screw, was she?" "Oh don't be crude and if you must know I had never met Alina before we were placed in that small raft."
