Chapter Eleven

I walked back to my room to take a well-deserved shower. I got dressed again and decided to go for a walk around the hallways. Unfortunately for me, there were a lot of hallways and I think I kina got lost. I opened one of the wooden doors and there were books everywhere. This intrigued me, so I decided to stay a little. I scanned through the books to see if there was anything worth reading. Before I knew it, I had 5 or 6 books in my hand. I hope it’s okay, but I’m taking them to my room. A few turns and a lot of gut instinct and I found my way back to my room. I spread all the books on the bed and started with one. “Demonology: the study of demons.” I sat back and started reading. I knew some of the things I was reading, but honestly, I just hoped to learn something new. By the time I reached ¾ of the book I heard a knock on my door. “It’s open!” It was Ivan. I recognised him from the night the demon was brought in. I closed the book in my hands and got up. “So, I see Caius settled you in nicely?” he said with a smirk on his face. “Yes, he has.” I replied plainly. He entered the room and started looking around. Ivan was one of the warriors at the academy, he was tall with messy longish hair, dark and he had a trimmed beard and well built. I felt a little uneasy having a stranger in my room. I’ve only seen him before, but I didn’t know him at all. “Is there something I can do for you?” “Not really, I just came to see what Caius’s fascination was about.” He was walking around in my room and came to a halt in front of me. “Since you arrived here a few nights ago he’s been obsessing about you.” I took a step back, and could hear a bit of loathing in his voice. What did I ever do to this guy? “What is it about you? What are you?” He reached out to touch me and I ducked underneath his arm and moved past him. “I’m not sure what it is you’re getting to, but I think maybe this is something you should discuss with Caius.” I quickly answered while backing up. He turned around and came at me again, a little faster this time. “Now, now, there’s no need to run from me, little one. I just want to have a little fun.” He looked at me like a hungry wolf. “Ivan, I think you should leave!” I said firmly. “Listen you little b***h, I want to know what it is you are and why he’s keeping you a secret.” He got hold of me and pushed me against the wall, dragging me up until my feet dangled six inches off the ground. “There’s no running from me now. We are all friends here, and I just want to play with Caius’s little toy.” He smirked. He made me feel sick to my stomach. He was pressing me hard on the wall and my cracked sternum was still healing from the punch it took earlier, so the pain in my chest made it a little hard to breathe. He was breathing hard, and he looked like a crazy animal. “Who are you?” He growled. “Tell me!” He dragged one hand down my hip. I narrowed my eyes and smiled. I threw my head back, then slammed my forehead onto Ivan’s nose. He immediately let me go and grabbed his nose, blood covered his lip. “You b***h!” He snarled and took a knife out the side of his belt. As the blade swept toward me, I stepped in close to his body, so when I turned my right shoulder, it brushed his chest. Using the edges of my opened hands, I struck his upper and lower arm. The combined force of my strike and his swing made his arm go limb immediately. The weapon clattered to the floor. Backing away again. “Ivan, I don’t want to fight, but you’re giving me no choice. Please leave!” He came at me again and I prepared to hit him. Before he reached me, his one knee gave in under him and he fell to the ground and howled in pain. I saw an arrow in the back of his leg, and when I looked up again and saw Caius standing in the doorway. Relief and panic hit me at the same time. I just got out of the glass sell I didn’t want to go back for fighting with another warrior. Caius approached me and he looked furious. “Caius, I swear, I didn’t star-.” He grabbed my face in both hands. I could see he was looking for marks on my face. He reached down for my hands and inspected them for marks. “Did he hurt you?” he asked, but still had anger in his eyes. “Caius, I-.” “Did he hurt you?” “No, he tried to, but I’m fine really.” I squeezed his hands. He walked to Ivan who was still on the floor and pulled the arrow out of his leg. “Rafael!” He called and Rafael appeared in the doorway, “Please take Ivan to the glass sell, I’ll deal with him later.” His face was calm, but his voice was angry. Rafael picked up Ivan from the floor and took him away. Caius turned around and faced me again. “I leave you for half a day and you beat up one of my warriors…” “Caius, I swear-.” I started and Caius started laughing. “I’m just pulling your leg.” He laughed. “I can’t believe you right now!” I shrieked and smiled at the same time, grabbing a pillow from the bed, and hitting him with it. He ducked and dived from the pillow. He laughed as I kept hitting him, he ducked underneath the pillow and grabbed me by my waist and pushed me onto my bed. He laid on top of me. His body pressed against mine and the laughter between us both died. My eyes were glowing bright as ever now that I could feel his whole body against mine. His one arm was underneath me holding my back as he rested on his elbow and the other was free. His eyes moved from my eyes down to my lips, he rubbed his thumb over my bottom lip. I held my breath and held on to the bottom of his shirt. With every stroke across my lip, he came a little closer to my face, he was biting his own lip now. It felt like fire burning through me. What the hell was he doing to me? I didn’t want him to leave, I wanted him to stay like this, I wanted this feeling to last. My fingers moved a bit, and I touched the skin under the hem of his shirt. I could feel the v line his abs made where his pants started. He groaned and closed his eyes for a second. He pressed his forehead against mine. “If only you knew the power you have over me.” He whispered, “I’m losing every bit of self-control every moment I spend with you.” My eyes widened with surprise, he opened his eyes and saw my reaction, and started to retreat. “Oh s**t, I should not have said that.” He was backing away. I didn’t want this moment to end. I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him back to me. This time our lips crushed against each other’s. Caius seemed unsure for a moment, but then I ran my hand through his hair and the kiss got more intense. My heart was racing like crazy, I pushed one of my hands underneath his shirt to feel the tightness of his skin, he moaned against my lips that sent shivers through my nerves, shivers that made my wholebody tremble. His tongue slipped inside my mouth, gentle but demanding, and it was like nothing I’ve ever experienced, every square inch of my body dissolved into his. My fingers gripped his hair to keep him close, the weight of his body on top of mine was extraordinary. I felt him – all of him, pressed against me. His hand ran up from my knee all the way to my hip, his hand felt like it was burning against my skin. He broke the kiss, and we were both panting like crazy. My lips were swollen, and it felt like every other part of my body was swollen as well. His eyes were a dark colour, he looked like a hungry lion. He pushed himself up from my body. “I’m sorry I got carried away.” He got up from the bed, straightened his shirt and ran a hand through his hair. He then smiled at me. “Please come down for dinner tonight. I’d love to introduce you to the team.” He turned around and left. My heart was pounding like crazy. Like a little girl, I shrieked on the inside. I couldn’t get up from bed, my arms and legs were trembling. I’ve never experienced this before. I’ve never even really been kissed before. I didn’t want him to stop. It felt like he was still there. Every part of me tingled. After I got hold of myself and got ready for dinner, I went downstairs to find everyone sitting at long tables in the dining room. Everyone stopped talking and looked straight at me. I’ve never been in a room with this much angelic blood before. Honestly, I just hoped nothing would happen or that my eyes wouldn’t betray me. Caius stood up and introduced me as an ally who would be working with the academy to help with the demon uprising. “Please treat her as one of our own, don’t cross her because she will put you on your ass.” Everyone laughed at this, and I smiled with relief. “Now, let’s eat!” he opened his arms, and the room was filled with talk, laughter, and wonderful food.
