ECHOES OF LOVE AND GUILT

Everyone thought my dad died because of the accident but definitely not me, I was the least person to believe that it was just an accident. It was just so strange how my dad stopped working for the company, and all of a sudden he gets into a car accident which claims his life. I can't really say for sure, if the company was behind this but I will make sure, I find whoever,had a hand in it and make them pay. "Claire, come down for breakfast"my mum called "I'll be down in a while, mum" I screamed from my room I grabbed my bag and the amulet my dad gifted me on my 16th birthday. "Morning,mum" "Morning,my love"she answered giving me a peck which I also reciprocated. I turned to my kid brother and gave him a hug , while caressing his hair.I took one bread toast from the plate ,and gulped down a glass of milk while Standing. "I'm off mum, I'm almost late "I said giving both my mum and my brother,Asher, a peck before leaving. "At least, take some snacks with you"my mom pleaded "C'mon mum, I'm not a child anymore" 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 And nobody knows, I now work in the same company my dad worked for before he was murdered ,as I was so desperate to find out the truth. Even my mom, doesn't know about it, I just told her I have a part-time job but didn't tell her I was working at the company else she would be mad. "Hey Claire"Gabby called from a distance disrupting my thoughts.she gave me a hug "How are you doing"I asked as we walked towards the classroom. "Of course, I'm doing good,guess what?"she asked with a smile lit up on her face. "I'm not in the mood for your jokes right now Gabby" "Okay, you are spoiling the fun but I'll just tell you,you know Sam right?"she asked "Yeah,the one you've been crushing on since first grade"i replied "You didn't have to say that Claire,well,he asked me out" "Wow, congratulations "i said sarcastically "C'mon Claire" "Since you like him so much and you are happy with him, I don't have an issue but if he dares break your heart, I'm going to teach him a lesson" "I love you so much,my super bestie"she replied happily clutching to my arm like a child. I've known Gabrielle since we were kids, she's my best friend and our families also know each other. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 After class that day, I gave Gabby in my backpack to return home for me, I just took my clothes which I needed for the work. "Why do you have to do part-time jobs, you aren't lacking anything"Gabby asked with a concerned look. "I know Gabby, I'm just doing it because I want to, I just need something to keep me busy, that's all" "So just help me with the backpack"I said giving her the backpack which she collected and gave me a hug. "Claire, I really miss working home with you" "I miss that too, what about I promise to spend the whole day with you tomorrow, I'll be free" "And this should be sixth time you have promised me such a thing since you started your work ,but never kept to it" "It's either you say something came up at work or something else happened, and you don't even want me to know where you work and..." "Gabby"I called, interrupting her. "This time around, I'll make sure to keep to my word, I promise, and about my work, it's nothing serious, I would tell you about it one day"I added "I won't argue with you anymore, so you don't just keep to your promise tomorrow"she said I smiled, and hugged her tight once more before she left, I stood there looking at her she she works far,and I couldn't see her anymore. I didn't want Gabby to know about my work because she will be worried so I chose to keep it from her till it's right to tell her about it. I walked to a nearby cafe, sat down and ordered a cup of hot cocoa because I had to wait till it was night before I continued my journey. That was one of the orders, no one has to find out the company's hideouts or the location else you will be dead.
