Night Before The Wedding
The clock donged on 5:00, simply indicating it has now become evening. I enter my wardrobe giving a once over of the prepared uniform for tomorrow's... occasion. I turn on my heel as the images of the event race through my mind causing me to cringe in disgust. I never wanted anything to do with that horrid woman even their kind. However, for the sake of my kingdom to be safe, it was a chance my parents wanted me to take. They said it was an opportunity, but however, I don't how that is so fitting. Considering they're nothing, but leeches who destroy and harm my people. My parents never told me why I had to go through this arranged marriage. They've said it as if I was obligated to go along with it. 2 knocks at my door and shout in response allowing entry. The maid entered with a tray in hand, "Your highness, here is your supper," she bowed and I gestured towards the table outside the wardrobe and into my room. "Thank you, you may take your leave," I responded cooly. Not wanting to eat I pace in my room contemplating many scenarios to escape this event, but to no avail, for I know the outcome of each and every one of them. I sighed in defeat and sat on the edge of the queen mattress with my hands cupping my face. With every thought of the dreadful day and from then on, I was becoming overwhelmed as i thought about how vampires would mate. I grimaced and gagged at the thought knowing how they just love to bite each other's necks as they get on with it. I couldn't go along with that even just to fake it. I decided to exit my room and go for a quiet stroll along the garden hedge. I passed by a few maids and heard a particular conversation as they spoke of some witch. I decided to hide behind the wall of the corridor and listen in. I fixed my posture to make it seem as if I'm just leaning against the wall and thinking. "Judith, this woman who has such power can really cast anything," listening to this conversation I used my selective hearing to focus in and take mental notes. "Anything you say?" The woman sounded to be a bit younger. She must be new to our establishment. "Yes, indeed. I asked her for a trial run and she helped my feet feel light again." I heard her maid attire shift as if she was showing something to the other maid as proof. "Oh my! For her to do such work on your feet she must be a real witch!" For this maid, I believe her name to be Judith sounded truly astonished. "Mhmm, in fact, you can find her in a small cottage just on the outside skirts of the village. West from here of course."  With that information, I decided to take my leave and see this witch for she may be my answer to rid tomorrow's events. I try my best to be nonchalant as I pass by every maid and other underlings. With success, I finally reach my horse Blackedge. I pull the reigns and motion for him to leave through our little secret path. I kept west on the outer rim of the village walls and there I spot a small light through the dim forest as the sun begins to set on the horizon. I ride out fast towards it hoping it's the witch. To my surprise, a small cottage came into view and I lower myself onto the ground from my horse and tying him to a small branch poking up out of the soil. I walk cautiously toward the door with the intention of knocking, only to be met with a simple, "Hello, you seem to be awfully dressed nice to be here for anything. Quite frankly, I don't remember anything about guests arriving at this time." She spoke about softly yet caused me to turn my head fast in her direction. For a witch, I was expecting a nasty, wrinkly, moly woman. No, instead she was remarkably beautiful. "I'm sorry, but I came in dire need of your help if you will." I kept my voice soothed in calmness whilst lacing it with stern seriousness. She waved her hand in a roundabout way, then motioned for me to come closer. I did and she took my hand in hers and closed her eyes as her emotions played out on her face. "Oh my! Your grace, I'm so sorry to have not recognized you. Please forgive me, but for tomorrow... oh you seek my help for this." her voice lowered into guilt then sadness. "That's alright, but yes I need your help with this please," I asked, hoping my voice had no indication of beg. She sighs in defeat knowing how much I need this. I kissed her hand in turn of a thank you and I'm glad that made her smile. She nodded in agreement retracting her hand and beckoned me to her cottage door. I entered without a second thought and as I looked back she was poking her head out the door and looking around the surrounding area. She then shut the door and sealed it shut with every lock. her actions made me think twice about coming here, but then I reminded myself of tomorrow and decided not to go back on this. She motioned me towards a giant grey pot and told me to sit in front of it. I did as she commanded and she went around all over her tiny cottage grabbing every trinket, object, and jars of ingredients. She poured them all into the giant pot and it began to boil. With that, she began chanting in words of an unknown language. A sort of bright neon blue light absorbed into a substance then evaporated into the air. Circling around me then the witch told me to open my mouth. With hesitation, I lifted a brow and she nodded to assure me. I opened my mouth and the substance invaded every part and everything of my being. I let out undeniably loud screams of pain and agony. I felt every part of my bones shift and crush as they rub together. My flesh meshing and churning as my veins felt like sandpaper. After what felt like centuries I felt taller.  My strength felt to be of 3x my normal. I felt a fuzzy sensation on my skin and what looked to be a snout in front of my eyes gave me great shock and I fell hard on my head and everything became black.
