Dain’s POV The journey back to MoonBlood territory took longer than it normally would have, largely because Nymera's condition made fast travel impossible and because every few minutes I found myself glancing toward her despite repeatedly telling myself not to. She walked beside me quietly for most of the trip, clutching the borrowed cloak tighter whenever the wind picked up, and although some of the color had returned to her face after resting through the night, the lingering exhaustion remained obvious in the way her shoulders drooped and how carefully she moved over uneven ground. Several times I considered shifting and carrying her the rest of the way, but each time I dismissed the thought before it could fully form.
