Chapter 8

Before the King attacked

The next morning I was awoken by a raspy voice.

“Mmmmm, I could just stare at you all day. You naked, chained up, and at my mercy is tantalizing.” The very large man from the other day was standing close to me.

My heart rate picked up and my breathing became shallow. A man came into the cell and stood over me straddling my legs. He reached into his pants and started to rub himself. I was shaking so hard my teeth were chattering.

A cruel smile took over his face and I started to scream and fight with what little strength I had. It wasn’t doing any good. Every time I hit him he hit me back harder. I pushed at him scratching his face and he began to choke me, my vision was filled with black spots. I still had the nail I found on the ground and with everything I had I jammed it into his face. The man let go of me and screamed.

“You b***h!!” The man gripped the nail and pulled it out of his cheek and tossed it. I watched in horror as the wound just closed up like it never happened. I screamed in complete disbelief and terror. He pined me down with his body, and began licking my neck and then my breasts, then bitting them all over so hard that they bled. I squirmed and let out sob after sob I could barely breathe. I was in a full blown panic. My visions started to tunneling, and I couldn’t catch my breath. He pulled my legs apart painfully and started to rub his c**k against my opening. He lined himself up, I braced myself for the inevitable when there was a loud deafening boom that shook the cave. He stoped and shot up.

“What the f**k was that?!” Roared the man. He ran to investigate leaving the cell open.

After a moment I began crawling on to all fours to where my chains were arched. I tried to pull on the chains but it was no use. I was dizzy and weak, I could hear the howls, yipping, and roaring coming from somewhere outside. It sounded like a war zone. All the women were scared and panicking. I was hard to focus with all of them screaming and crying.

Just then the guard came running back towards us screaming in pure agony landing just beside the cell. He stopped moving and I hoped he was dead, he was smoking like burnt up somehow. He was motionless for a minute or two. Shaking, I gingerly reached into his clothes to find anything that could get the chains off and found keys. After a few tries, felt like an eternity,I found the right one and unlocked my chains. I went to the other cells and tried to unlock them but the women swatted my hands away.

“Let go!” Now is our chance!” I tried reasoning with them. But they only shook their heads frantically and hid in the corners of their cells.

“Fine, I’ll unlock them but you can stay if you want. I can’t stay here another minute.” I finished unlocking the cells. I looked over at the dead man and stumbled to his body. I took his shirt, he was very large and the shirt reached my knees. I was about to leave when an explosion cut me off and forced me to go in a different direction. I had to find to find a way out. The explosion created so much dust it was impossible to breathe. My ears rung from the percussions. I went as far away as I could from the fighting and found a small hole that lead outside. As soon as I crawled out I started running. No clue in what direction to run, I didn’t know where to go or even where I was but I made a decision to just move and kept going until the sounds of the fighting sounded far away.

I was very weak and tired. I kept falling and scraping my legs on rocks and sticks. My eyes were swollen from the punches and the light hurt my eyes from being kept in the dark. I tried to keep going, after some time I stumbled upon a creek and started drinking eagerly. After resting I started to feel the cold and more of the pain. It was freezing out and the adrenaline was wearing off. Shaking violently I followed the stream for a long time, until heard howling that sounded extremely close. These howls were different, they sounded bigger, and deadlier. Fear restarted my energy and I stared to run, I ran across the river but fell in, the freezing water paralyzing me momentarily. Full of fear I pushed on, running until my body couldn’t move anymore. Soaked from the water I curled up under a brush and rested. It was freezing and I couldn’t stop the shivering so sleep wasn’t going to happen. An hour past and I got up to run again, my skin felt tight from the cold like it would break into shards. The shirt was stiff from being wet in the cold air. Eventually every branch and rock that scraped I couldn’t feel. It was dark now, so dark and I couldn’t see a thing. I laid down and curled into myself and shut my eyes. Maybe I wouldn’t wake up and then my suffering would be over. Exhaustion took over and I slipped into nothingness. I woke up the next morning to howling.

“Oh no.”

Moving was impossible, I had little water or food in days. I was hurt and surely suffering from hypothermia. I was stiff and everything felt like moving rusty metal. I was about to run again when a booming voice said

“I found her!!”

Dread was all I felt, they found me.They would bring me back to the cells to be raped and tortured. I tried to get up multiple times only to fall from pain. Looking up to see many men approaching. I panicked and started throwing rocks and sticks at them.

“Stay back!!” I screamed but I hardly recognized my voice. It was so horse and weak.

Then out of nowhere the brightest light appeared in front of me and separated myself from these barbaric monsters. It got so bright I had to shield my eyes. Then a flash and I felt myself removed from the ground as if being carried. I had a sense of calming and it lured me to sleep, I started to fight it but it felt too good, I thought maybe I died and I was leaving this world for the afterlife. So I welcomed it and let it take me.

Back in the woods with Roman’s men

“What the f**k?!” Thomas yelled as he looked around where his Luna was on the ground. The warriors also looked around in confusion.

“Where the f**k did she go?” Thomas was now pissed and afraid of what his Alpha would do when he found out he lost his mate.

“Spread out and look! Now!!” Thomas ordered. But there was no sign of her anywhere.

There was only one option. The only one that would make it possible to disappear a person within seconds.

“Fairies…” Thomas growled out. They had the magic to do this. But why? Why would fairies bother with a human?

Locating the fairies land was damn near impossible. There was a magical veil, separating them from everyone else. The King would get letters once a month from their leader, but never in person. They kept to themselves so they were never considered a threat. But now things may have changed and if they have our Luna we would add a new enemy our growing list.

Roman

“Alpha.” Thomas mind linked Roman.

“Yes Thomas?”

“We found her.” Thomas reported

I started running in my Beta’s direction we were only 20 mins apart.When the sun started to rise Thomas had mind linked me to tell me that they found her. I was elated then dread consumed my every thought as I raced to my mate. What if I need to reject her? “Don’t you dare!” My Lycan retorted. “Don’t act like it isn’t a possibility, she is human and I have no idea if a human would even survive a bite, or what will happen to her if she gets marked by us.” My beast was silent for a while. “You will not reject mate, end of discussion.” I shook my head, my mind went to what I would find, was she hurt bad? What would she think of me? What decision would I inevitably have to make? I would need to do what right for my pack.
