Chapter 5

Supernatural Realm Roman walked down the halls of his castle. He had a meeting with the witch every week. Every week was the same as before with no mate in sight. Not a clue about who she was or where to find her. The witch had the gift of foresight. Roman kept walking deeper into the castle, the halls became darker and colder with each step. The silence of this part of the castle always gave him an eerie feeling. Roman approached the large wooden double door and took a deep long breath and knocked. “Come in Alpha.” A soft gentle voice sounded from the other side. Roman opened the heavy door and stepped into her spell room. It was well light, books lined the walls along with positions, gems, stone, and various artifacts. Roman strode up to where the woman sat at her desk reading a very large thick book and took a seat in front of her. “Morning Gwen.” I greeted with upmost respect. Gwen looked up from her book and gave me a warm smile. Gwen was a beautiful young lady, only 17 but incredibly gifted with her magic. She had a pleasing face somewhat heart shaped , long white straight hair, one blue eye and one green both sparked with what I could only describe as all knowing. Gwen was a slender petite young lady only 5 feet maybe 2 inches. “Morning my King, you’re late today. Made me think you didn’t want to see me?” Teased Gwen resting her slender hands under her chin. “I’m finding it difficult to be met with disappointment week after week. My apologies for being late.” I explained tiredly. “ I hope I did not make you late for any other prior engagements you may have had.” Gwen only gave a soft smile and tilted her head. Gwen respected and trusted her King, he had saved her as a young child from a rouge attack that took her whole village out. Roman found her unconscious under some rubble and brought her back with him to help her heal. She Gwen got better she also would get visions that helped the Kingdom immensely. But letting them know where rogue’s were setting traps or where the enemy would be. Making her an asset to the King. So she stayed ever since. Unfortunately she still can’t control when her most of her visions come to her. But she got stronger with her magic every day. “Now let’s begin”, she reached for my hands and then gripped me hard. I hated this part. Her grip was uncomfortably tight. I watched as her eyes went white and she her gaze went up to the ceiling. Waiting for ten long minutes she loosened her grip, her eyes went back to normal, and she set her gaze back on me. Only this time instead of a frown she had a small sad smile. My heart picked up its pace. I couldn’t tell if it was good or bad news. I immediately became very still. “What did you see?” I said steadily trying to convey control, readjusting my seat. Gwen slowly sat back placing her hands in her lap and she took a long breath. “I saw a young woman in danger my King, she’s in pain, lots of it. My vision was choppy and hard to follow. I could sense her fear and anguish. But I’m not seeing anything after that.” Gwen explained her vision. My heart sank as I listened to her words. I rather there be no news at all! “In pain!? Why? Who’s hurting her! Could you see who had her? What did the place look like?” Panic and anger filled my body. “I didn’t see.” Gwen said apologetically and a bit shaky. Taking a deep breath rubbing the back of my neck. She must have seen something really terrible if she’s this shaken up. Gwen doesn’t normally get rattled. “Thank you Gwen.” I shoved my chair back making it screech across the floor. I shot up from my seat and stormed towards the doors to leave. “I’m sorry my King!” Gwen’s voice was filled with empathy. I paused at the door resting a hand on the door. “I wish I had better news or even more new to share. But the Moon Goddess holds her cards close to her chest. She only let me see what she wants me to see.” Said Gwen as she rested her shaking hand on her desk. I didn’t turn around as I spoke. “I know Gwen, thank you for your service to the crown. I’m not angry at you, I’m thankful to have you by our side. Let me know if you see anything new, anything at all. I’ll be working.” I sounded almost monotoned to my own ears and the left her spell room. As I walked back to the main part of the castle I knew I needed a plan of some kind. So I went straight to my tactical room. Hours past as I sat down at my table with all the maps and pinned areas of rogue attacks. I wasn’t sure how to focus after the news I had gotten. She’s out there and in pain, and I was helpless. As my gaze returned to the maps my thoughts drifted to the attacks. They were small and fast, making it difficult to pin down the hideouts of these rouges. They seemed to be everywhere at once. But that wasn’t possible they didn’t have enough members, 160 at most. Deep in thought, with my hands rubbing my temples. “We need to find mate”Lark clipped pulling Roman from his thoughts. ( Lark is the King’s Lycan.) “I know, she is out there somewhere, we will find her I promise.” Roman try’s to calm his beast. “I grow weak.”Lark says tiredly “I know, I feel the same. I’ve looked everywhere, even other species of the supernatural realm. I am not sure what else I can do at this point.” I say sounding defeated. Lark was becoming more prominent in my head, and started to take over more often. It’s difficult to stay in control. I spent hours sitting alone thinking of my mate and the rouge problem. A loud sound pulled me from my thoughts and my head shot up when my Gamma Elijah came barging in slamming the door open. “Your highness!” He said while bowing and trying to catch his breath. I slowly rose up from my seat with brows knitted together. “Speak Elijah!” not liking his worried face. He also looked rather pale and clammy. Elijah was a tall man, standing at 6’3. He had shaggy dark blonde hair, he grew a short kept beard, deep warm brown eyes,20 years old. He was lean and muscular, excelled in hand to hand combat. He was a very serious man, very diligent and disciplined. I trusted the man like I trusted Thomas with my life. “We have news that the rogues have been kidnapping and murdering from the human realm!!” Elijah Bent over bracing himself on his knees. “ I was walking through the halls when Gwen bumped into me and had a vision right in front of me. She griped me so hard, her eyes went completely white and then she started frantically telling me everything. Scared the hell out of me!” Elijah blurted out in one breath. My eyes widened at this news. I had forbidden the portals to be opened, it was dangerous for the humans. This news was shocking to say the least. I could feel something brewing, but never in my wildest imagination would I think that rogues would be kidnapping humans. How long have they been doing this? “What are they doing with the humans?” I murmured in shock, slowly turning to my table with all the pins that showed attacks and possible hideouts. “Could they want them for food? There was plenty of food in these lands.” “That’s another thing Alpha, Gwen said they are trading them with vampires for an alliance against you and some are being eaten or used for other personal purposes and most are being… turned.” Elijah said sullenly. Rage was building me from within me. Now it wasn’t just rogues, it was and vampires. Vamps loved human blood. I knew the vampires were being somewhat cagy. That’s the reason the rouges were seeming to be everywhere, because they were! They were building their own pack up using humans. Leaning over the table palms down I let my beast take over my body, he wanted blood and so did I. “I’d like to see them try.” I gritted out. “Assemble our warriors, we leave tomorrow for a hunt. After that we will be having a not so nice visit with our bloodsucking friends. We put an end to this now. Every one of them will die, they f****d with the wrong Lycan!!” I roared and the walls shook.
