Chapter Two

Benny did not sleep well that night, her heart kept beating fast as she tried to process multiple thoughts at once. It was a new day. She got out of bed… Alexis had woken up before her. He said good morning she responded but wasn’t ready to stay any longer, she took her clothes got into the bathroom to change. Called a taxi and left his house. It was really awkward. They didn’t smile at each other or even spend the morning like usual. Alexis did not text her to find out if she got home safe; they both became distant. Later that evening Benny texted him to have a conversation because she was feeling restless inside of her. She needed an explanation or she wanted to hear the truth, but Alexis was not ready to say the truth, he just said the same thing he told her the previous night. She knew he was lying but she just decided to let it go. Benny was too scared of losing Alexis it's safe to say she loved him more than he did. She moved on from that and wanted them to spend time and continue like that didn’t happen, which she did. It was Alexis birthday week Benny had made plans on how she wanted them to spend the day. She had gotten various gifts to surprise him too. Just three days before his birthday he went on a trip with his friends without fully informing Benny ahead of time, she was having a conversation with him when he mentioned going on a trip with his friends for his birthday she wanted to cry out but she just felt this numbness, she replied him saying alright let me know when you get back.

She stayed home and cried. She couldn’t contain it. She felt betrayed, unseen, and ignored by his actions. Gaby Benny’s best friend sent videos to Benny he had gotten from a mutual friend’s socials of Alexis and his friends partying in a strip club. Benny had no idea this was part of Alexis' plan she had to pretend to Gaby like she knew he was going to party like that. Benny now had more reasons to cry and feel miserable she couldn’t think straight or fathom what was happening. She already pictured how she wanted his birthday to look like. She has been planning and looking forward to it since they met, because Alexis told her he rarely got gifts from people or have much of a celebration. Benny was used to gifting people be it family or friends not to mention someone she was in love with. She wanted to make it special, she wanted to make Alexis feel very special and understand just how much he means to her. Whereas Alexis spent his birthday enjoying, partied all night and did all kinds of things, Benny called him on his birthday to wish him a happy birthday she also sent him birthday messages, they spoke at length and he told her he was coming back the next day, the trip just happened last minute and it was unplanned. She believed him and waited to see him the next day. He finally arrived and came to see Benny. He apologized for not spending his birthday with her. She brought out all the gifts she had bought to surprise him and gave it to him, he kissed her and she pulled him closer while they locked lips. They then stopped to talk for a while and catch up on things regarding the both of them and their relationship. He later left that night to go back to his place Benny escorted him out and waved him goodbye as he drove off. He got home and sent Benny voice messages, he was so happy with everything Benny bought for him, and he kept thanking her telling her how he appreciated everything she felt happy too, knowing he loved his birthday presents. The next day Benny decided to cook for him and his friends. She still wanted to do something for his birthday. She prepared spaghetti bolognese and chicken wings on the side, she packed everything and delivered it to his house. It really wowed him and he enjoyed the meal. Benny was a good cook too. She was just trying to make him feel special and show him how much she loved him. Later that evening she was meant to hangout with him, but he was unreachable. She slept off waiting for his call but there was none. The next day he left messages and called he said he had fallen asleep, after being fed by her. He also said nice things to her and later that day he went over to spend time with her. He bought her ice cream. They also had cake to eat with it. He said his body was aching, so he laid down on the couch and placed his head on her lap as she ran her hands through his hair, petting him while they had some intimate and slow conversations. He was gently falling asleep as he said you always know how to take care of me… He eventually slept off while they were together. About thirty minutes later his phone began to ring but he was deep asleep. The caller’s name was Helen, which was strange. Benny had never heard of Helen, she pondered if she should pick the call or not. The caller called twice, but Benny decided not to answer the phone. Now she was curious to know who that was a few hours later, when Alexis woke up she told him Helen called you, immediately he took a deep breath and was like that’s someone random he met at the mall. At that moment she couldn’t process any replies she just said how come you’re giving out your number to random people? He couldn’t answer vividly. Benny felt Alexis had other ladies in his life but was trying to be the only one in his life. But she was slowly learning that loving someone deeply did not always mean they would love you the same way.
