Chapter Five

Days had passed, and now Benny has decided she was going to remove the pregnancy. She also confided in her friend Gaby she told him she was pregnant and everything that had happened including her conversation with Alexis. Gaby told her he was going to support her with whatever decision she made. She felt relieved she needed to feel supported because she felt so alone in the last few days. She went to bed, woke up the next money and headed to the hospital for the procedure. She went into the doctor’s office, the doctor asked her some few mandatory questions. Also asked about the man responsible she answered and signed consent form. After the procedure was done Benny stayed at the clinic for a few hours. Gaby came by to give her food and to also spend some time with her. Now it was time for her to go home, Gaby dropped her off at her house. And drove off. Benny walked inside her apartment slowly reminiscing about everything she felt rage inside of her, she started wishing things were different. But she had to do what she had to do. She entered the bathroom turned on the shower had her bath, cleaned up dressed up and laid on her bed. She felt the need to text Alexis but at the same time she felt she shouldn’t. So she slept off. Gaby made sure to check in with her every day, to make sure she was ok and not thinking about the situation. Three days later Alexis sent her message to check on her, he was trying to find out if she had actually done it. He called her she picked up and he said how are you doing today? How’s your body? How did everything go ? Benny replied everything went well you don’t have to worry and I’m fine thanks. He said okay and ended the call. It was an awkward and brief call. Benny decided to only focus on things that brought her joy moving forward, she had some decor to put into her apartment she started buying items to make her apartment feel more like home. She also applied for a HR job at a Global company called Rae Investments, she was on waiting they had asked her to come in for interview in about one week time. It was six days towards her interview she randomly got a message from Alexis checking on her and saying he thought about her, so he decided to reach out. Benny read the messages but ignored them without responding. She didn’t want to give her energy to things she has tried pulled herself out from. She spent her days studying for her interview as she was also rounding up the interior decorations of her new apartment. She signed up at the gym, became more active, take walks daily and just do different things to keep her busy instead of thinking of her painful experience with Alexis. It was finally the day of her interview. She woke up in high spirit she prayed, put on some music while she tidied her apartment, she brushed her teeth, packed her hair upwards and tucked it into her shower cap. She showered while dancing to the music playing in the background it was Marshmello ft Bastille Happier that was one of Benny’s favorite songs. She got out the shower looked in the mirror and affirmed positive words to herself. You’re a star, you’re going to get this Job you will walk out of Rae Investments super happy today. She smiled and continued dancing as she lotion her body and started dressing up. She wore a black pants, a pink long sleeve shirt tucked in and added a black leather belt. She wore a black stilettos pump. She did her light makeup come her hair down applied her Victoria’s Secret Bare Vanilla body mist and Louis Vuitton imagination perfume. She smelled amazing and she looked so gorgeous she topped off her look with a nice and simple accessories, necklace with a heart pendant, a small heart stud earrings and a Hermes bracelet gifted to her by Gaby on her previous birthday. She took a final look in the mirror to see her outfit and admire herself before heading out. Gaby was already one minute close to her house, she begged him to pick up and drop her off at her future work place. As she walked out Gaby was like you look so good and happy my friend I love to see you this way they both laughed as they drove off. Finally at Rae Investments Company, Benny said this is huge I can’t believe this would be my work place soon. Gaby wished her luck as she got out of the car waved him bye and ran off. Her appointment was set for 11:00am she had arrived at 10:30am. She went straight to the reception gave her name and what she was there for. One of the staffs showed her the way to the waiting room where other candidates sat down. She walked in all smiles and greeted the three candidates there they admired and complimented her because she looked beautiful. Benny sat down crossed her legs while waiting. It was few minutes to the interview she felt a bit nervous but yet confident. She was thirsty so she reached for a bottle of water kept beside each candidate. Interview had started and she was the last person to be interviewed immediately she was called in, she stood up checked herself out and walked in with so much confidence. As soon as Benny opened the door she flipped her hair the interviewers were mesmerized, she was 5:7ft tall, fine eyes, brown hair and gorgeous. Her outfit was also well put together she was asked to have a seat, she sat down and the questions started rolling in she answered all the questions without stuttering safe to say Benny brought her A game. The HR spot was opened to one person. So she was very positive, she stepped out and went to sit at the waiting room while waiting for the results. As she was seated a young man walks in handsome 6ft2 tall, well tailored suit, he had fine hair texture he was headed towards the interviewers room. Benny said are you here for the interview? You’re late we’ve just rounded up. He looked at her with such arrogance without uttering a word and walked in. Suddenly Benny wondered who he was could he be a staff or a candidate well whatever she said. Exactly 45minutes later Benny was asked to check her mail and report to work in 2 days time she jumped up for joy. She said yes I did it. She immediately started calling Gaby to give him the good news he picked up she screamed guess who just passed her interview? Gaby was so happy they both screamed as she walked out to get a cab without looking while trying to reach for her wallet in her handbag she collided with the same young man from the waiting room he’s iced coffee spilled on Benny she almost fell, she was like watch it! Don’t move around without looking he was like that’s just a little stain on your shirt I can replace it for you. Benny felt so angry and irritated she ignored him and walked away.
