Chapter 11 Trick of the trade

1147 Words
Hearing the quarrel outside, the shop manager walked out from inside. "Sir, I'm so sorry, I apologize to you on her behalf. This is our VIP card. With this card, you can purchase anything in our shop at a twenty percent discount. It’s compensation for you. Also, our shopping guide will be punished and educated for her mistake." A middle-aged man with a big belly said apologetically with a grin. "Apologize to this gentleman," the middle-aged manager motioned to the shopping guide with his eyes. "I'm sorry." The female shopping guide lowered her head and apologized in a low voice, but she smiled mysteriously at the shop manager when Ryan was not looking. Since that the shopping guide and the shop manager apologized, Ryan didn't want to pursue it. "Forget it, I’ll take this dress. Give this lady the one in small size." Now that he promised to buy it, he had to buy it. After the shopping guide and the shop manager left, Rosa glared at him, biting her lip. "Why you spoke for me? I didn’t say I want it." "Don't you like it? Just take it as a gift from me." Ryan shrugged with a resigned smile. "I can buy it myself if I like it," Rosa said stubbornly. Ryan was taken aback for a moment, finally aware that he seemed to be a bit self-assertive. "You are not angry because of it, are you? Aren’t we friends? It's normal to receive gifts from a friend. Don't think too much. It’s nothing. You can also give me a gift next time." Ryan explained patiently. The word "friend" obviously calmed Rosa down. She nodded and went to the fitting room. When Rosa put the dress on and came out of the fitting room, Ryan was completely shocked. The dress seemed to be tailor-made for Rosa. Rosa was in good shape, and the dress outlined her slim figure perfectly. She looked pretty spiffy and sexy in this dress. Rosa did a twirl in front of Ryan, smiling and asking, "how does it look on me?" "It looks so great,” Ryan said sincerely this time. “It’s the best style for you!" Rosa blushed slightly at his compliment. Then they went to check out happily. After they left, the female shopping guide said to the manager with a flattering smile. "I was doing pretty well just now, right?" "Very well. I will give you a bonus at the end of the month." The middle-aged man nodded in satisfaction. It turned out that the two acted in collusion with each other and played tricks to increase sales. When the customers showed a hesitant expression after selecting a piece of clothing, the shopping guide would take the opportunity to humiliate and despise the consumers, stimulating them to promise to make a purchase. Then the shop manager would act like a good man, coming out to mediate, and gave certain discounts, to ease the anger of the consumers. In the end, most consumers would bite the bullet to buy the clothes for decency's sake. Since they played this trick, the performance of their shop had risen sharply. The two of them had never been tired of the trick. But after all, the truth would out. Later, when their business grew bigger and bigger, a consumer inadvertently discovered the trick played by the two and recorded the whole process. The consumer posted the video on the Internet, evoking a blizzard of criticism. With the intervention of relevant departments, the shopping guide and the shop manager were caught and punished. That was a later story. At this time, Ryan and Rosa who had already left didn't know they had been tricked. After leaving the department store, Ryan and Rosa felt empty. They decided to go to the food street to get something to eat first. Ryan walked down the street absently. He had always been feeling being followed from the moment he went out of school to the present. To confirm his feeling, he quickly pulled Rosa into a nearby clothing store and signaled Rosa to keep silent. After a moment, a young man with yellow hair appeared at the entrance of the store. Ryan remembered this guy. He heard someone call him Big Jim, and they were in the same department. He had been wondering why he often saw this Jim at school recently. It seemed that he had been shadowed for days. Big Jim stopped at the entrance of the store, taking out his mobile phone. "Snake, the two are now in a women's clothing store. How long it will take you here?" He squatted and took a stealthy glance into the store and lowered his voice, "You’re already here? Well, they are in a store named IKEA next to Cinda Department Store." Snake again. Ryan hid behind the door, with clenched fists and fierce scowl. He didn't expect trouble to come again. He was not afraid, but he feared that they would accidentally hurt Rosa. Reluctantly, he held Rosa and ran out. As soon as they ran out of the door, three vans stopped in front of them and a dozen of men jumped out of the vans, headed by Snake. Seeing this, Ryan pulled Rosa and ran forward hurriedly. "Stop!" Snake shouted and ran after them, followed by his people. Unluckily, very soon Ryan and Rosa ran into a blind alley. Before they could retreat, Snake had caught up behind them. "Aha, you can't slip away this time." Snake gasped. Ryan readjusted his clothes and said with a smile, "Hey, Mr. Snake. What are you running after me for?" "Stop playing the fool. You know why I’m here." Ryan’s indifferent look irritated Snake more. He decided to give this guy a good lesson today! "Oh, what’s going on? Did you come to apologize especially? I'm tolerant, you know. I’ve forgotten about that night in the bar. You don’t have to do this. Okay, you can go." Ryan said in a deliberately magnanimous voice, waving his hand to signal that Snake could leave with his men. At that insolent remark, Snake felt like slapping in his face. He knew that Ryan could fight, so this time he took more than ten big men. He didn't believe that he couldn't lay him down this time. "Enough bullshit! Snake, what're you waiting for? Just give him a beating and he will behave himself." One of Snake’s men cried impatiently. For them, Ryan was just a weak student. It was a waste of time talking with him. What's more, there were more than ten people on their side. Why be afraid of a boy? Ryan sighed. He knew he had to take it up today.
