Chapter 10 Shopping

Within a short time, everyone left the auditorium, leaving Lewis and his followers on the stage. "No one can take the woman I want," Lewis gnashed his teeth, no longer pretending to be a gentleman, and his eyes got to looking mighty ugly. "Who knows where that guy comes from?" One of his followers approached Lewis and said flatly, “I know him. We’re in the same department. He’s just a low-born commoner from a small country. Both his parents are ordinary workers." "Huh, I’ll shoot him like killing a bed-bug. Now, let’s give him a lesson and let him know the difference between the elect and the vulgar. " Lewis said with a note of mockery in his voice. He took out his cell phone and dialed a number. "Do me a favor, Tiger." "Mr. Fowler, go ahead," a hoarse voice replied lazily from the other end of the phone. "I would like you to give a guy a good lesson. Ryan Melton, a student. I’ll send you his photo to your line later. By the way, don’t do it in school. I don’t want my father to know that." "Okay, I promise he will be laid up for over a month more in the hospital." "Well, thank you, Tiger. By the way, how’s the event of Brook Field?" "Don't worry, more than one hundred households have already signed the agreement. The matter will be resolved soon." "Well, very good. You’re really my dad's trustworthy partner." "Thanks for the compliment. It’s win-win cooperation." "Okay, that’s it." Lewis hung up. He couldn't help laughing when he thought of Ryan's fate. ... "Let me go," Rosa reminded Ryan in a slow voice, her face glowing with shyness. After they left the auditorium, Ryan didn’t withdraw the hand on her waist, still holding her in his arms, and they walked towards the girl’s dormitory as if by prior agreement. “Why?’ Ryan looked at her innocently, and smiled, "What's wrong with me holding my girlfriend?" He deliberately emphasized the word “girlfriend” so that everyone around them looked over. "You wish." Rosa shook his arm away, cutely rolling her eyes. Ryan knew she wasn’t seriously annoyed. Seeing her red face, he couldn't help but continue to tease her, "Someone ran over to me and took my arm just now, saying she’s my girlfriend. You know who’s that girl?" "Isn't it an emergency just now." Rosa blurted out without much thinking. "So, you just made use of me, and I’m useless now." Ryan deliberately said, pretending to be disappointed and angry. "That's not the case! Don't be angry, Ryan. I just...just… Well, forget it. Go shopping with me tomorrow afternoon, okay?" Rosa was eager to explain, but not good at explaining, and she had to change the subject awkwardly. "That won't work unless you promise me one thing." Ryan looked at Rosa with a sly grin. The evil light in his eyes alarmed Rosa. She took a step back, folding her hands on her chest, and asked vigilantly, "What’s it? You don’t want to take advantage of me, do you?" Seeing the cautious look on Rosa's face, Ryan put away the playful smile and then said prudishly, "I’m not such a person. As for the promise, I haven't figured it out yet. I’ll tell you when I make up my mind." Rosa knew that Ryan was deliberately frightening her. She pinched him on his waist, and said in a coquettish voice, "You naughty boy!" They laughed and chatted all the way to the girls’ dormitory. "See you tomorrow!" Rosa went bouncing upstairs. When Ryan returned to the dormitory, his three roommates had already been sitting by his bed waiting for him. Perry dragged him in as he entered the door, seating him on his chair. "Be honest, where did you go with our school babe and what did you do?" Perry asked with a wicked grin. Ryan struggled a little bit before he replied casually, "Don't think too much. I just sent her back to the dormitory." "Really?" His roommates didn't believe it. "It's as true as I'm sitting here." Ryan blinked his innocent eyes. "Well, Ryan, I bet your condescending attitude in front of Fowler pissed him off. You slapped him in the face in front of so many people. It takes courage!" Gian said, absorbed in what had happened in the auditorium. "Better be careful. The guy is born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has never suffered from setbacks and defeats. He'll find some way to pay you back." Victor reminded. "Thank you, I will be careful," Ryan said gratefully. These friends were his greatest fortune. … In the afternoon of the next day, Ryan kept the appointment with Rosa. They met downstairs the girl’s dormitory. Rosa was wearing casual and simple clothes today. She looked pretty and fresh as a daisy. "Where are we going to shop?" Ryan asked as they walked out of the school. Rosa tilted her head, thinking for a moment, and said, "I want to buy clothes. What about the nearest shopping mall?" "Okay, let's go!" Ryan stopped a taxi, heading to the commercial plaza of the university town. The commercial plaza combined culture, entertainment, and commerce. Its main street was lined with shops and department stores, cafes, and restaurants, and it met the student’s increasing need for high-quality commercial and recreational space. Ryan took Rosa directly to Cinda Department Store. On the second floor, Rosa stopped in front of Chane Boutique, her attention attracted by a dress displayed in the shop window. "Go in and take a look." "No, clothes in this shop are too expensive." Rosa hesitated. "It's okay. Let's just look and see what they have." Ryan encouraged Rosa as he pulled her into the shop. The female shopping guide did not come up enthusiastically to receive them but continuing ironing the clothes. She had seen the two of them when they talked outside the window. However, they were students, and she knew they couldn’t afford the clothes in the shop. Though there was no shopping guide service, Ryan and Rosa chatted as they went through dresses in high spirits. "What about these shirts? Do you see anything you like?" After walking around, Ryan asked Rosa. "Do I look good in this dress?" Rosa asked as she took a blue satin dress trimmed with lace from the shelf. The dress was soft and comfortable, well-cut, and the style was simple but noble. "You look perfect in any dress," Ryan said with a big smile. "Sweet talk." Rosa grinned and rolled her beautiful eyes. "Try it on first.". Rosa nodded, but before she went to the fitting room, she found that the dress was large for her in size, so she turned to the shopping guide. "Excuse me, do you have this dress in small size?" The female shopping guide said with an impatient look, "Yes, but if you don’t buy it, don't try it. You can't afford it if it gets dirty." "How can you be so rude? We didn’t say we don’t buy it." Ryan was a little angry. "Oh? Do you want to buy it? This dress goes for 5,800 dollars. Can you afford it? If you don't have money, I suggest that you go shopping on the street. This is not the place you should come." The snobbish shopping guide said with contempt. Hearing the price, Rosa put down the dress in shock. Although her family condition was not bad, she never spent so much money on a piece of clothing. She didn't even think about it. How insulting! Ryan frowned. "5,800 dollars? All right. I’ll take it. I want to see your manager!"
