This little story is lovingly dedicated to my Mother, who, for years has been the Good Angel of "The Cabbage Patch".
A charming, heartwarming story that is also at times heart-wrenching. The story centers on Mrs. Wiggs, a recent widow, and her family. Mrs. Wiggs has little education, no money and many children but is so undaunted by her circumstances she is absolutely inspiring. This author deserves rediscovery, and I am so glad to have stumbled across her. She has a clever, witty style with turns-of-phrase that remind me of my favorite author, Elizabeth Von Arnim--Submitted by Dana Sherstad
