Chapter Twenty-Nine Cement walls surrounded us, enclosing the trucks from our caravan. Thirty feet above, a glass ceiling let in the bright midday light. Four thick metal doors were set into the back wall and one, massive metal door into the front. The two side walls were bare concrete. Cell. Cage. Trapped. “Lanni, look.” Mari pointed to two long tables that had been set out with food and water for the travelers.
