Luna Mayors is done with fairytales. At thirty-one, she’s a divorced single mom just trying to keep life steady for her child. Love? That’s a luxury she can’t afford. Stability is all she craves.

But when billionaire Daniel Rodgers walks into her life with a dangerous proposition — pretend to be his girlfriend and help save his reputation — Luna knows she should run. Instead, she signs the contract, trading her peace of mind for financial security.

It was supposed to be business. Clean. Simple. Temporary.

Only, nothing about Daniel is simple. Behind his charm lies a man scarred by secrets, shadows, and a family history more twisted than he’ll admit. The closer Luna gets to him, the harder it becomes to separate lies from truth — or duty from desire.

Then Luna makes a discovery that changes everything. A revelation so explosive it could ruin her, Daniel, and the child she’s fighting to protect.

What began as a fake love story has become a dangerous entanglement. The world will call her names. His family will stop at nothing to bury the truth. And Daniel himself might walk away when he learns the cost of loving her.

Now Luna must face the hardest choice of her life: protect her heart and her child by walking away, or risk everything for a man she was never meant to love.

Prologue
Intro It was the day of our wedding. It was the day I've been waiting for; it felt like a dream getting married to my high school sweetheart, and I would have sworn it was the best day of my life. John, my Fiancee father has to walk me down the aisle because my father died long ago, since I was 12 and my mom had run away before I turned 18, leaving me to my aunt, who helped me become the woman I am now. I tried to not let the memories of my childhood days get to me as I had to focus on the moment. John was like a father to me, and that was enough. I looked at his face while we were walking, and I could see he was trying very hard to battle his tears the same way I did. When we finally got to the altar, he placed my hands on my soon-to-be husband, Joe. He took my hand and kissed it, then we faced the priest. The next thing I remembered I cared about was kissing Joe, and I was pronounced his spouse. We've kissed a lot of times, in high school and at the university, but this one felt different. It felt as though I was about to melt into the ground, and I never wanted it to stop. Unfortunately, Joe withdrew his lips from mine, and I opened my eyes. Everyone was clapping and on their feet, and I could see my aunt Melissa crying. I wanted to go hug her, but I squeezed my husband's hands instead and held myself together. I'm a wife now, and soon I'm going to be a mother too, all with Joe.
