Welcome To The Neighborhood
As the Morman family started to pack their car after the death of Milly's father, Milly looked back at their soon to be old house. She had grown up in this white house with a brown roof and shutters all her life. She sighed as the last of the boxes had been put into the moving truck, really not wanting to leave. She didn't want to leave her home, her friends, her memories. But alast, she had to.. her mother, had already paid for their new home.
"Come on, Mill, we need to get moving before sun down!" Her mother called from within the truck, causing her to groan. With an unwilling heart she entered the truck, buckled up and began to drive off to Blackfalls.
Once the family of two had exited the truck, they began to unpack. "Go pick your room, Mill," her mother insisted. Milly grumbled internally as she walked off into their home, a yellow house with a brown roof and shutters, to pick out her room. "Well isn't this nice?" She asked herself, "Why couldn't we have just stayed home..? Everything was better there... and I didn't have to worry about being murdered in my sleep.." Milly Morman was a young black haired, girl who's skin was whiter than milk. She was around the age of fifteen but looked around the age of twelve. She wore blue shorts, a red shirt and blue sandals, since this was summer time. 'Let's pick out a room so I can get tomorrow started...' She thought to herself, extremely exhausted from the long drive, which had gone on from early morning to the beginning of the night.
After going into the hallway and turning to the door beside the laundry room, she walked into what would soon be her room. It was a medium sized bedroom with a walk in closet and window. She hummed as she saw the closet, thinking it was nice to have. There was already a bed in there. 'Strange..' nonetheless, after checking the bed for whatever could be in it, roaches, bedmites, ladybugs, she laid down in it and looked up at the ceiling. 'Maybe.. Maybe this won't be so bad after all...' She smiled softly as her mom called her to the front door, Emily had finished unpacking their things from the truck. "Hey, sweetie, did you notice someone leave a welcome basket at the front door?"
'Welcome basket?' She looked behind her mother, into the kitchen and saw it. "No, mom, I did not..." Her mother looked surprised, "well, that's odd, I guess one of the neighbors left it here." Milly walked into the kitchen to read the note that seemed to have came with it. What she saw next would be kind of alarming to her. "welcome to the neighborhood" was witten in blood on the white card, a smiley face signed at the bottom.
She screamed internally, not wanting to scare her mother as well. Throwing away the note in the trash as fast as she could to spare her.
