[SHAZ ALMANO]
The usual. Shaz, sat in the office waiting for something to come up. He was just waiting on his phone to give him a reminder, but the device was yet to alert him. Something to intrigue me. He thought for the umpteenth time. Something to grab my interest. Something to occupy my time.
The office was always boring whenever he was ahead with paperwork. The watched the table clock, with absolute boring as he watched its hands barely moved.
Shaz, you love your job, just remember that.
Who knew working could get so boring after Rachael left. She was always talking, half the tine it doesn't make sense but it kept me entertained.
Come on Shaz, work ain't all that bad..
That's what I've been telling myself for the past few weeks. Here I am waiting on my nine o'clock.
I have someone to interview for a personal assistant position. According to Rachael it's a guy. And considering the fact that I've never had a male Assistant it's something to look forward to.
But why not try something new huh?
I sorted out files that piled up on my desk. I did everything that had to be done. I fixed the last document, the office to make it a little presentable and took a gulp out of the steaming hot coffee.
Just an incoming call from my fiance Diandra, I tolled my eyes at that.
“Hey baby! Just checking up on you. Letting you know that I'll will be attending the fashion show in Paris.”
“Babe. Are you checking up on me or are you telling me that you'll be going to Paris? When are you going?”
“I'm planning to go soon, my friend Colleen is going so I was like, why not?”
I laughed at her, she can be adorable when she wants to.
Sometimes I wonder if it's me or is it my money she loves. When she goes out and return, I just know not to expect my credit card the way she left with it.
"Knock!'' "Knock!"
The door suddenly knocks. I hope it's not Calcia. She's been flirting with me nonstop. I can't keep up with her antics kill me now.
“Come in.”
Kill me later.
A fine man walked in. Maybe late twenties. Really tall, slim built despite the muscular arms. Green eyes, plump pink lips and a little stubble.
Damn.
He gasped, for a reason I don't know.
“Hello, good morning. I'm Jaiden Alexander. Here for the interview at nine.” He nervously looked down at his watch, Shaz couldn't help but check out his posture, how he acts in general.
I Like him already.
“Yea. Come in. Have a seat. Shaz Almano nice to meet you.” I reached out my hands for a handshake, the brown haired man grasped at it with a smile.
I gestured towards the close available seat.
His smell was quite captivating. He smelt like berries and a hint of sweat pea. Feminine but interesting. Be cleared his throat, the man shifted in his chair.
“So, what sparked your interest in being my personal assistant?”
I watched as he furrows his brows then answered.
“It's my friend Rachael that told me since she's on maternity leave. I accepted the offer because I need some extra cash so I can support myself financially.”
He knows Rachael?
“When you think about Mardona—this company, what comes to mind?”
He looked up in the celling like he was going to find answers up there. Then looked at me again before answering.
“What comes to mind...hmm. investments and shares for sure. Clients, you as the executive, employment, contracts, deals, should I continue?”
Me?
“I think that's satisfying yet adequate. So how did you meet Rachael? If you don't mind me asking?”
"We were close friends in highschool and throughout college. She's actually the God mother of my child.”
For some unknown reason, Shaz felt some type of way. He couldn't tell if it was because of what the man said about him having a daughter, or to the fact that he was already taken.
“Since you seen like you could be helpful. You've got the job. Don't disappoint.”
He said firmly.
I never really asked him any real questions, I hired him because he's a male and I would like to know what will make him different than the other female assistants I used to have. I've never make such stupid decisions before. Gosh I hope what I'm doing is ethical.
“Really! Thank you Sir. Won't let you down. So when do I start?”
“You can start tomorrow. Seven sharp.”
The man jumped from the chair which caught Shaz off guard. He was even frightened when he felt hands around him, he realized that he was simply pulled into a hug. He cleared his throat one last time for the guy to let him go.
He left go with a blush on his cheeks, his new assistant narrowed his eyes and silently whispered a apologetic sorry.
Afterwards he said his goodbyes and left. So he has a daughter. And he and Rachael were best friend, what do you call that these days? Besties?
I cringed.
Small world isn't it?
Its the first time in a long time someone has grabbed my interest. The only thing that was a problem was that, the said person was also a man like me. Speaking of, I had to ensure that the deal I made with Pride Industries was sealed or else. I was just going to be another madman.
I took up my jacket and head towards the conference room and there they were. I cleared my throat to make my presence known. I took a seat the head of the table and the meeting has officially started.
They all gave me their undivided attention.
“Lets continue where we left off shall we.”
“ ... ”
Nothing was said. Nobody said anything and all their eyes were on me. So I decided to start since I scared them that much.
“So I've decided to purchase your company. I've been looking at your financial records and it's clear that you are not making but losing profits every financial year. Not only to that but you have debts to other companies, you've lost clients, workers are constantly laid off and still you can barely find money to pay their salaries. What is it poor management or what?”
I hope they knew the question was rhetorical. And at the same time I was curious to know the answer. People tend to think that it just needs money to started a business. I hope these headless fowls know that it's takes creativity, a good vision, flexibility and a patient person to be an entrepreneur.
“We've been making wrong decisions and we lost clients. I assure you Sir, we're working on it.”
My eyes met with the one who spoke. How dare he come in my company and think he can assure me? How f*****g dare he!
“Is that your excuse? Pathetic. You sure don't have pride telling me that. Pun intended.”
“Even though the company is at stake Sir. We will not sell it. We could merge but sell, no.”
Are you kidding me? I want the goddamn company to further my thing! You stubborn fool! You f*****g ass!
We will not sell it.
We will not sell it.
Those five words angered me.
“To think I would merge my company with yours, that will soon run to the ground I would be an i***t. I will not smite my company by the looks of yours.”
I stood up.
I took deep breaths and stated. Mentally counting from one to ten, I heard it works. I heard it help with anger.

“So what if I say, We take over the company. Profits will be shared 70...30 ..We will get the seventy of course. It's a negotiation, you're lucky you're even getting that much.”

I tried my best to not let my voice betray me. There is so much anger I'm trying to keep under control. I have sacrificed my time to come here and now I leave empty handed. I could've made appointments with other CEO’s, I could've done so much.
“No Sir.”
I lost it.
“Meetings over. Get the f**k out!”
