Chapter 16The narrowness of the passage would make it difficult for too many of the bots to reach them at once. But Jules wasn’t planning on sticking around to see what the bots were going to do.
“They shouldn’t be doing that,” Tee said behind him.
“Maybe, but they are,” he said. “Get into the lift.”
“They won’t harm us. They have safety protocols to enforce it.”
Out on the attic floor the bots crawled smoothly forward on their legs. It wasn’t the most graceful motion. They jerked back and forth as each leg snapped out. Their UV lights kept sweeping across the passage as they crawled quickly forward.
This wasn’t looking good. “I don’t know if those protocols are working.”
