Chapter 19The mood downstairs in the common area was light and happy. The girls were laughing, listening to Bri telling them tales of her trip to the station. Tee was cooking in the kitchen area off the main room and the smells of spices, tomatoes, and fresh bread floated through the air around them. MAR-A stalked, joints popping, back toward the bar stool it had used earlier but was intercepted by Mel before it could reach it. The tiny girl, curls bouncing, grabbed the combat droid’s hand and beamed up at it. “We’re having tortellini with tomatoes and fresh bread!” MAR-A looked down. “I don’t eat.” Mel pouted. “That’s sad.” She brightened up. “But you’ll still join us, right?
