I got a message from Devin when I woke up letting me know that he had arrived at the packhouse. We had a video call before I left the house and headed to the farm office. He was about to go to work when he called and gave me a tour of his bedroom. He was not wearing a shirt and was lying in bed. He was about to go to sleep.
Devin: “I miss you already. I wish you were here with me.”
Kara: “Me too. How was your trip?”
Devin: “It was fine. I’m getting a few hours of sleep before taking care of pack business.”
Kara: “I’m on my way to the farm office. The auditors are coming today.”
Devin: “Oh, yeah.”
Kara: “Why don’t you go to sleep. You look really tired.”
Devin: “Okay. I’ll call you later when I wake up.”
Kara: “Sleep tight.”
