I was surprised when Connor spoke to me after the warrior training that day. He told me to be at Adolphus' office at 8 pm tonight and to not tell anyone about it. I was curious as to what it was about but just nodded and said, “Okay.”
When I got to the kitchen, I smiled as I greeted Aliyah. She smiled as she said, “Hi, Jared.” I noticed that she looked different today. Her hair, which is usually down and unruly, was braided today and looks very tidy. Because of this, I could see her face, and for the first time, I noticed that she had freckles on her face. This made her look cuter than she already was. I also noticed a small dimple on the top of her right lip as she smiled.
