AS Brian walked me home, he kept talking about his childhood and how his life had changed after he got adopted. His life in the orphanage was quite unremarkable, and the nuns who took care of him are pretty nice, but he’s very lonely and seeing his friends get adopted one by one. When his chance finally came, he was both nervous and excited. I'm nervous because he didn’t know what his adoptive parents would be like, and excited because he’ll finally have someone to call mom and dad.
I was happy with how things turned out for Brian. I can’t believe that he told me about this part of his life, but I feel like I know him better, despite only meeting him once before.
Kara: “So, what made you want to become a doctor?”
Brian: “My parents are both doctors. I admire what they do
