CARMELA and I started working at the coffee shop on Monday. We didn’t work the same shift, but at least our schedules overlapped for a few hours. On our first day, we came in at the same time for training.
I’ve never even seen some of the machines that they had at the coffee shop, and it was all so new to me. Carmela seemed amused, and the barista who was training us seemed entertained by her comments.
After a few hours, we took a break, and six hours into our shift, we were already making our first drink. Training only took about an hour, and we spent the rest of the time observing the baristas making the drinks. When our shift ended, Carmela and I were both confident with our skills.
