Chapter 28. A jump to the past II

Twenty years ago.

—Those were other times when competitions ended in death, now those things don't happen anymore— the way they looked at each other made the atmosphere too tense.

—Well, it was an accident, my boy is too strong and doesn't control his strength well, he didn't want to kill him, but it happened and you know it's a latent risk.

—Accident? Week after week you force your boy to go to his limits.

—He's an alpha, he has to make himself strong.

—So? Broken ribs are part of it too? If the boy didn't heal so fast the social services would have already come for him, you're too lucky, you son of a b***h— the leader of the Halland clan blurted out.

—Are you going to denounce me? Do you think you have the right to tell me how I should raise my son?— The leader of the Garroway family was at the next level of fury, he threw everything he had to go after his opponent, but he was easily dodged.

Looking like an i***t in front of his own blood, the man lashed out again, he was determined to tear him to pieces, but he was too slow to catch him, when they finally got tired of not having contact, Mr. Halland thought he should settle it once and for all, with a blunt blow on the chin he lifted him a few meters above the ground, when he fell he held him by the collar of his shirt, the werewolf was still stunned.

—I didn't mean to do this, remember that— he explained before transforming his hand into a claw shape, he proceeded to run his nails over the other man's face, long enough and deep enough to leave a scar for him to deal with.

The screams of pain made the people who were gathered in the place move away, they were afraid of ending up in the same way they were treating those men, they could not believe how far the situation had gone, they felt humiliated and angry because they did that to a member of their family, but with an alpha as strong as the Halland family, they knew there were no options to be victorious, it made no sense to go to a war that they would surely lose.

—Please, please stop— were the words that George Garroway let out when he saw his father's pain, everyone felt sorry for the boy, and he felt ashamed to know that they knew about his condition, about the beatings he was given, but they never did anything about it.

The werewolf could not just let him go, he knew the wishes of the other family leader, he would attack as soon as he could, he would not stand still before the challenge imposed before his power, that was when Harold touched his father's arm to make him stop.

It was then that he realized that he had gone too far in front of the boys, they did not have to get involved in the affairs of older people, otherwise, it would happen just like now that their emotions overcame them.

He released the man who fell to his knees, screaming while holding his bloody face, the mark would be a warning to the other werewolves, about what happened when they crossed the limits of the rules for harmonious coexistence.

—For your son and mine, I have stopped at your face today. Next time I'll come for your throat— he warned the leader of the Halland family clan, walking away.

It was then when something unexpected happened, the leader of the Garroway family stood up, transforming both of his hands into claws, ready to attack treacherously, when he was about to throw himself on his opponent was when George reacted, with a blow of his shoulder he deflected his trajectory, everyone gasped in surprise because he was challenging his father's authority.

It is supposed that once a certain level of maturity is reached it is normal to fight for the leadership of the family group, but they had been procrastinating, George felt that his father was a giant in comparison, but he realized with the Halland's attack that he was not, he was quite weak compared to the other werewolves he had faced.

His father lunged at the boy ready to murder him, his aura had changed to something much darker. He felt an absurd fear that he would hurt him, but he couldn't help but run from one place to another avoiding that man, he was totally scared of what could happen.

He had never faced someone who wanted to kill him so insistently, then the fight became more and more serious, ending both transforming into wolves, between scratches things became too difficult when his father tried to tear his throat, for his luck he was much faster than him.

That was when he decided, he could not allow himself to be killed.

Both wolves met in the air, ready to do what was necessary to win the fight, but the young wolf was much stronger, not only could he corner him and leave him lying on the ground, but he went even further, his father realizing his possible loss began to make a ball in the dirt on the floor, but it was no use, George thought that he had already been through that many times.

He rolled himself into a ball and begged in tears for it to stop, but his father only repeated that this was how character was built, so he continued with his task, tearing at the man's throat, doing his best to tear it apart in every direction so that it could no longer heal.

The blood...that red stain did not seem to leave him.

Right after that, he transformed into a human, the burgundy color covered his hands, thighs and chest, that heat was burning against his skin, then as the rage passed he realized what he had done, he had murdered his own father in the middle of a bunch of witnesses.

A hand came to her shoulder, it was Harold Halland.

His sad look told him more than he cared to know, it was obvious, he now looked at him with pity and sadness, as if he felt some of his grief, but no, no one could feel what he felt, he had lived with that demon for too long, no one had protected him, even they knowing about it did nothing and now he had had to kill that ruthless demon.

He had to protect himself, and even supported someone who betrayed him. His father's words made sense now, the way they were judging him said a lot about his hypocrisy and he didn't want to be around people like that, he wanted to get away from them.
