The patriarch of the family saw how the staff panicked by his presence, the stench that his fear emitted made him feel that they were hiding things from him and it bothered him a lot, because any werewolf was able to hear the heart rate, the breaths and feel the emotions of people, how had they fooled them?
He didn't think it was possible for them to be cheated, at least that never happened during his leadership in the presidency of the company, all the men and women he could hire were related to the pack, they understood how to primarily take care of the livelihood to function as a big family, but Harley had a different vision on how things should be done, he put "Qualified" people who had gone to good universities in charge and the original employees were moved to other branches or other "Better" positions. He had trusted his changes because they made money, but he couldn't ignore that he was being too soft about it.
Harley knew as soon as his father arrived at the building, the employees seemed to panic to get ready, they couldn't know that my father cared very little about personal presentations. He was coming to hang some bodies over the roof and shout that he had cleaned his house.
The leader of the business group arrived on the top floor. Everyone seemed to be running in different directions, he thought they looked like ants trying to flee from his wrath, so he went straight to what was once his office, the main one. Harley had all the documentation pertaining to the man in the incident and also the security camera footage of him trying to assault Andrea.
The door closed leaving the two alpha's trapped in the same space.
—What the f**k happened?!—The patriarch's scream rang through the glass causing the employees to panic.
—The older man thought he didn't like the tone his son was using, he was still the alpha of the pack, and his subordinates were listening to them, it would make them doubt his power.
—I'll give you a chance to explain the situation to me— Harley knew this was a threat, one he would make good on if he didn't hurry.
He started by showing her the security video. The cameras on the floor had no audio, but it was evident that they had had an argument that altered the man's nerves. When he was about to hit her he could see how Harley intervened, watching the images he had to pass saliva, he could tell he had some kind of interest in the lady in question by the way he looked at her, he hoped he would not have to show this to anyone else.
—Now I talked to the man, he tried to convince me that this was how men settled things, with pure and physical violence, he was trying to control his wife.
—We don't get into couple problems— was the older man's response.
Harley understood that his father came from a different generation, where it was not uncommon for some men to beat their wives if they felt they needed some kind of protection, the alpha, though ruthless, never applied this in his pack, especially with his moon.
—She is the woman Hunter is interested in, her name is Andrea Smith— the older man took a better look at the woman in the video. He was not expecting her to work in his company —Yesterday, the man approached her house at night with equally violent intentions. If he dared to do that in the company with the risk of being caught and fired he is dangerous.
The alpha analyzed what his son had said. It made sense that Hunter was interested in protecting his girl, disposing of pack resources if necessary and now his eldest son, seemed equally interested in the same woman, he needed to understand what his two sons saw in her.
—Bring the girl and leave us alone.
—She's the victim dad, you can't treat her badly— Harley knew his progenitor well enough to know that nothing good would come out of a talk between the two, his father was not moved in the least by what had happened, on the contrary, it seemed that knowing the girl was with Hunter increased his anger.
—Bring the girl— repeated the leader inflexibly. Harley did as his father asked, feeling that he was about to take a prey to a bloodthirsty wolf. Andrea could see the pallor on her boss's face, she doubted he was trying to hurt her or blame her for what happened, but the older man in that office, looking at her as if she was a cockroach on the floor, hadn't even let her sit down.
—Don't sit down, this will be brief, what is your name?— the woman salivated, frightened.
—Andrea Smith— The leader of the pack analyzed her.
—I honestly don't understand what my two sons see in you— the woman looked confused, the man thought she was pretending to be stupid, —I don't give a damn what you think, but stay away from them, how much money do you want?
—What are you talking about? Aren't you here because of Chris's dismissal?
The alpha recognized that she had the nerve to question him while he was talking.
—Don't interrupt me, who do you think you are? How much money do you want to make me disappear from this town?— Andrea let out a gasp of indignation, she was tempted to slap the man, but she dared not do anything because she had just signed a contract and her mother had decent health insurance.
—Money? You want to cover this up?
—You bring problems in my family, I want to make them disappear— exclaimed the older man standing up —I care very little about the sentimentalities my children may have, this is business, tell me with which figure you will disappear from our lives?
—Enough, Dad!—Harley could no longer contain himself standing in the doorway, he couldn't pretend he wasn't listening any longer, he was furious that he would dare make such an offer, the poor woman had been through something traumatic and here was the man trying to behave like an i***t.
