When Gods Collide

Prologue Long before time had a name, when the stars were still being born, there lived two beings who knew everything that ever was, and everything that ever would be. One was light — laughter, creation, the heartbeat of the dawn. The other was shadow — silence, reflection, the calm before the storm. Together, they balanced the world. Together, they loved. But the universe is fragile, and even love has limits. Their closeness twisted the fabric of existence. Mountains trembled when they touched. Seas split when they kissed. The stars dimmed when they whispered each other’s names. So the gods, or perhaps something older than gods, sent a witch — an oracle of balance — to separate them. She gave them gifts and curses in the same breath: immortality, wisdom beyond comprehension… and eternal distance. For if they were ever to meet again, the world would fall into itself. Some say their souls wander still, bound by fate and longing, never to touch, always to ache. Some say when the sky turns violet and the air hums with power, it is because the lovers are reaching for each other again. But that is only a myth. A story told to warn hearts too reckless for the gods. A story… until now.
