Emergency room collision
“Emergency incoming! Move!” The doors of the ER burst open with violent urgency. A stretcher rushed in, wheels screeching against the polished hospital floor. Nurses and interns scattered instantly, voices overlapping in sharp panic. “Blood pressure dropping!” “Prepare oxygen!” “Where is the radiography team?!” Tracy didn’t think. She moved. Her ID badge bounced against her chest as she pushed through the corridor, tying her hair back with quick, practiced fingers. She wasn’t supposed to take lead positions yet... just an intern, still learning, still “under supervision.” But emergencies didn’t care about levels. The stretcher stopped abruptly in front of her section. And that was when everything shifted. Two men in black suits entered first. Security. Not hospital staff. The entire emergency room went quiet for half a second, like the air itself had been cut. Then he arrived. Even injured, he didn’t look like someone who belonged in chaos. Tall. Controlled. Expensive black suit torn at the shoulder, blood staining the white shirt beneath. His presence was not loud...but it pressed into the room like weight. Like authority. Like danger. Someone behind Tracy whispered, almost terrified: “That’s him… the CEO of Asterion Medical Group.” Tracy’s hand paused mid-motion. CEO? Her eyes lifted before she could stop herself. And the moment she saw him, something strange tightened in her chest. He wasn’t just powerful. He looked like someone who had never once been told “no” in his life. A doctor rushed forward. “Sir, please...sit him down immediately!” But before anyone could guide him, his body swayed slightly. Just one step. That was all it took. The CEO of Asterion Medical Group staggered. Gasps filled the room. And then He fell forward. Straight toward her. Tracy reacted instantly. Her arms caught him before he hit the floor. It shouldn’t have been possible. She was smaller, not trained for this level of weight, not prepared for the impact of someone collapsing with full force. But she held him anyway. “Careful!” someone shouted. “Don’t touch him like that!” another voice snapped. But Tracy wasn’t listening anymore. Because the man in her arms had just opened his eyes. And they were staring directly at her. Dark. Focused. Unnaturally sharp for someone who was supposed to be unconscious. For a second, neither of them moved. The entire room felt like it disappeared. His gaze locked on her face as if trying to place something...something buried deep inside him. Then his hand moved. Fast. He grabbed her wrist. Not weakly. Not instinctively. Firmly. Like he was anchoring himself to her. “Don’t let me die,” he said. His voice was low. Controlled. But strained at the edges, like pain was being forced down instead of shown. Tracy froze for half a second. Then she recovered. Because patients didn’t get special treatment because of titles. And fear didn’t belong in her hands. “You’re not dying,” she said firmly. “But you need to let go so I can work.” A flicker passed through his expression. Not annoyance. Interest. As if her answer wasn’t what he expected at all. Around them, the staff rushed into motion again. “Prepare CT scan!” “Check internal bleeding!” “Vitals stabilizing...move him fast!” Tracy adjusted her grip and helped guide him onto the stretcher. But even as he was moved, his hand did not fully release her wrist. It slid instead. Slowly. Until his fingers rested around it again...lighter this time, but deliberate. Like he didn’t want to lose contact. That detail unsettled her more than anything else. Because patients didn’t do that. And powerful men definitely didn’t cling to strangers. The corridor lights flickered as they rushed him toward imaging. Fast footsteps echoed. Machines beeped. Emergency protocols activated. And then Everything changed again. The CT room doors closed behind them with a heavy metallic sound. Click. Tracy frowned. “That shouldn’t have locked...” A technician rushed to the panel. “Power fluctuation...backup system is slow. Give it a minute.” But the system didn’t respond immediately. Another flicker of light passed through the room. Then Silence. The doors remained sealed. Locked. Inside the CT room stood Tracy. The unconscious CEO. And one security guard outside shouting through the glass. “Open it! They’re inside with him!” Tracy turned slowly. “This is not supposed to happen,” she muttered. The technician checked the system again. “It’s an automatic lockdown during unstable power. It’ll unlock soon.” But the room didn’t feel temporary. It felt sealed. Trapped. And then A low voice broke the silence. “You’re still here.” Tracy turned sharply. The CEO had lifted his head slightly. His eyes were open again. Fully awake now. Watching her. Not like a patient. Like someone memorizing a face. Tracy straightened. “You’re conscious earlier than expected. That’s not good.” A faint pause. Then he spoke again. Slower this time. “Have we met before?” The question hung in the air. Tracy didn’t react immediately. Because she was sure of the answer. “No,” she said firmly. “We haven’t.” But something in his gaze shifted. Like he didn’t believe her. Like her face was sitting in a memory he couldn’t fully reach. Outside, the technician’s voice crackled again. “Power is unstable...we might lose backup systems!” The lights flickered harder. Once. Twice. And then The CT doors locked fully again. A deeper mechanical sound followed. CLANK. Tracy’s heart dropped slightly. “What now?” she asked sharply. The technician’s voice came through the intercom. “…The system just engaged full containment mode. You’re temporarily sealed inside.” Silence. Tracy turned slowly toward the CEO. He was already sitting up more now. Studying her. Not panicking. Not surprised. Almost… calm. Too calm. Then he spoke again. Softly. Almost dangerously. “Now I understand.” Tracy frowned. “Understand what?” His eyes stayed on hers. Unblinking. “You really don’t know who I am.” A pause. Then he added, quieter: “That makes this more interesting.” The air in the room shifted. And for the first time since the emergency began… Tracy felt something she didn’t like. Not fear. Not attraction. Something heavier. Like she had just stepped into a story she didn’t remember starting. And the man in front of her… Already knew the ending. The backup power finally failed completely. The room went dark. And in the silence, his voice came again... closer this time. “Tell me your name.”
