His eyes gleamed under the pale sunset, an unusual kind of transparency crossing his carved features. Through the grey hues of his iris, one could meet centuries of loneliness, such heart-wrenching betrayals and unbearable, raw, pain. His gaze landed upon her frail neck, the delicate necklace it held, and the way it matched the peculiar amber tone of her doe eyes.
