Chen Wei was once the heir to a billion-yuan empire—until his cousin framed him for theft and his own family threw him into the streets. Five years of sleeping in gutters. Five years of beatings, starvation, and watching the people who destroyed him live in luxury. Five years of being called a criminal, a bastard, a nobody.

But when thugs beat him to the edge of death, something awakens in his blood. The Sovereign Inheritance System—an ancient power passed down through his mother's forgotten bloodline. Now Chen Wei has what every underdog dreams of: a path to power that cannot be stolen.

With each completed mission, he gains skills, attributes, and abilities that defy human limits. Corporate negotiations. Martial arts mastery. Medical knowledge. Tactical genius. The System turns him into whatever he needs to become.

His cousin Feng stole his inheritance? Chen Wei will take it back—with interest. His ex-fiancée married his enemy? She will beg for a second chance. The family that discarded him? They will kneel and call him master.

Revenge is a dish best served with a System interface and a growing body count. Time to remind Donghai City who the real heir is.

The Gutter
Rain hammered the alley behind Golden Dragon Restaurant. Chen Wei pressed his back against the wet brick wall, blood mixing with rainwater as it ran down his split lip. "Look at you." Zhang Hao stepped closer, designer shoes splashing through puddles. "Five years ago, you wore suits that cost more than my car. Now you smell like garbage." Chen Wei said nothing. Speaking only made it worse. "My girlfriend wants your dishwashing shift next week." Zhang Hao pulled a cigarette from his jacket. "You understand, right? She needs the money more than some disgraced criminal." The word burned. Criminal. Chen Wei clenched his fists, nails biting into his palms. He was seventeen when they did it. His cousin Feng had stolen two million yuan from the family company, then planted evidence in Chen Wei's apartment. The family elders believed Feng. Why would the legitimate son steal? It had to be Chen Wei, the bastard child. The shameful reminder of the old master's affair. They gave him no trial. No chance to defend himself. His father watched in silence as the elders stripped Chen Wei of his name, his inheritance, his future. Then they threw him into the streets with nothing but the clothes on his back. "Boss wants you gone by tonight." Zhang Hao flicked ash onto Chen Wei's shoulder. "Do not come back tomorrow." He turned and walked away, laughing with the two other kitchen workers who had followed him out. Chen Wei remained against the wall until their voices faded. Then he pushed himself upright, legs shaking. His stomach cramped with hunger. He had eaten nothing but scraps for three days. The restaurant door was locked. Manager Liu had probably done it the moment Zhang Hao dragged him outside. No final pay. No explanation. Just gone. Chen Wei walked. His feet carried him through the rain-soaked streets of Donghai City's factory district. Neon signs reflected in oily puddles. The smell of fried food from late-night vendors made his stomach twist. He had twelve yuan in his pocket. Not enough for a room. Barely enough for a meal. A black Mercedes splashed past, soaking his already drenched clothes. Through the rain-streaked window, he glimpsed a young woman in the back seat. Her face was turned away, but he recognized the pearl earrings. Lin Yue. His former fiancée. The woman who had promised to wait for him, who swore the accusations were lies, who cried when they dragged him away. She married his cousin Feng six months later. Chen Wei kept walking. The Chen family estate lay on the east side of the city, behind walls and gates and gardens. He used to run through those gardens as a child, before his mother died, before everyone started calling him "the bastard" instead of his name. Now he slept in a construction site three kilometers away. Close enough to see the lights of his former home. Far enough that security would not bother chasing him off. The site was empty at this hour. Bare concrete and exposed rebar jutted from the ground like broken bones. Chen Wei climbed through a gap in the fence and made his way to his usual corner—a spot beneath a tarp where the rain could not reach. His blanket was gone. "Looking for this?" Three men emerged from the shadows. The one in front held Chen Wei's thin blanket, grinning. Scars covered his face and neck. His companions carried metal pipes. "This is our territory now," Scarface said. "You want to stay, you pay rent." Chen Wei's body went cold. "I have nothing." "Then you leave. Or we make you leave." The pipe caught him across the ribs before he could move. Pain exploded through his chest. He collapsed, gasping. "Not so tough now." Scarface kicked him in the stomach. "Heard you used to be somebody. Some rich family threw you out like trash. What did you do? Steal? r**e?" Another kick. Chen Wei tasted copper. "Maybe we should check if he has anything valuable." One of the others yanked Chen Wei's jacket open, searching his pockets. They found his twelve yuan and laughed. "Pathetic." The beating continued. Chen Wei curled into a ball, arms over his head. Boots and pipes rained down. His vision blurred. His thoughts scattered. This was how it ended, then. Not with justice or redemption. Just dying in the mud like an animal. Something cracked. His rib, maybe. Or his skull. The world tilted. Darkness rushed in. But in that darkness, something else stirred. Heat erupted in his chest. Not pain—something deeper. Something that had been sleeping, waiting, coiled tight in his blood for twenty-two years. Words appeared in the darkness. Glowing. Impossible. [SOVEREIGN BLOODLINE DETECTED] [HOST APPROACHING DEATH] [EMERGENCY ACTIVATION INITIATED] [SYSTEM BINDING... 1%... 15%... 47%...] Chen Wei tried to understand. Tried to think. But consciousness slipped away like water through his fingers. The last thing he heard was Scarface laughing. Then nothing. When he opened his eyes, the rain had stopped. Dawn light filtered through gray clouds. Chen Wei lay in the mud, body screaming with pain. But he was alive. And floating in front of his face, visible even when he closed his eyes, were words written in golden light: [SOVEREIGN INHERITANCE SYSTEM ACTIVATED] [WELCOME, HEIR]
