I was looking at my phone on which Gabriel was calling. I declined the call and took a deep breath.
"Monika" Anika opened her mouth to say something but I shook my head.
"Please don't say anything", I requested and clutched the bed sheet in both my fists, feeling suffocated as the harsh memories of my life started flashing in front of my eyes.
"Mommy" my eyes shot up when I heard Jenny's voice from outside. I rushed towards the door and opened it, only to find Ryan standing there, holding his phone with the speaker on.
"Jenny is calling over your phone, but it was engaged, and then she called on my phone and asked me to give it to you. She wants to talk" I didn't even let him complete and snatched his phone from his hand.
