ENCHANTED-TAYLOR SWIFT
CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
ELLORA
When we reached school, we headed straight to the lockers, and when I open my locker, there it is. My phone is sitting inside my locker. I checked it to see that there’s no notification or some sort. How did my cellphone end up here if I hadn’t come here to school since I was hospitalized? And I remember that Papa gave it to me yesterday before we went home.
“Why?”
"I've been missing my cellphone since this morning. It's in my locker now." I showed Demi my phone, still wondering what was happening.
"Are you sure you brought that when you came home last time? Maybe you really left it here and you were just hallucinating?"
I shake my head “No, Papa said this morning that he remembered that he gave this to me yesterday before we come home from the hospital.”
“That’s—” she cringed her face “Weird.”
I nod “Yeah.”
The class bell rings and Demi kissed my cheeks that she will me meet me at break as she runs toward her class.
I walked in my English literacy class, the one class I have with Ronan.
Is he going to be there?
My questions were answered when I arrived in the classroom, Ronan was already sitting next to my usual seat. I sighed, I am so tired to argue with him today. I just want to focus on my study today since I am absent for two days. I quickly searched for a vacant seat, and I was lucky to have one ahead. In front of Ronan's seat, I have no choice. It's better to be in front of him than to be able to sit next to him again for an hour.
I sat down in front of him not sparing him a glance. And I can feel his eyes boring into the back of my head.
Professor McNeil isn’t here, so we just have to wait for her to come.
There someone tapped the person who is next to me that we both looked behind us, Off course it's Ronan.
He flashed his perfectly white teeth at the guy beside me "Can we change seats?"
My mouth open and closing finding words to stop him from doing this. The guy next to me looks at me then back at Ronan “I don’t know, this has been my sit for—”
Ronan missed the smile and looked at the guy, not just any other look. It’s a warning look. He c***s his brow impatiently.
“Ye—Yeah. Off course.” The guy next to me stood up, as him and Ronan switched sits.
I took a deep breath, just staring ahead of me, I don’t want to look at this arrogant bastard.
"I'm not sure if your Papa will appreciate that you swear."
And off course, I say it out loud "I know he'll understand me when he finds out you're the one I swear.”
He chuckles darkly and low, then my stomach did something unusual again just by hearing that chuckle of him.
I looked at him, then I remembered that he came by to my room the night I was discharged.
“Wait.” I looked at him "Did you take my phone?"
“Your phone? The one I gave you?” he tilts his head innocently but his eyes held guilt.
I nod “Yeah.”
He looks ahead of us as professor McNeil entered the classroom. "What am I going to do with your cellphone?"
I looked ahead and sighed, Yeah. He is right. What is he going to do with my phone?
The class went by, thankfully Ronan let me focus on the class and didn’t bother to say another word to me.
Someone came inside the room, a very beautiful woman that is wearing her heels high that every step she took we could hear the clinking of her heels on the tiled floor.
I noticed that Ronan sat still and holds the table so tight his knuckles become white.
I looked at him, he’s looking at the woman intently without blinking, as if he’s stops breathing too.
"Class, I want to introduce you to Miss Amber and our new university doctor for mental health awareness. So, if you have any problems be sure to talk to Miss Amber." Professor McNeil made the introduction.
“Hi, my clinic is open anytime. Just pay me visit anytime when you feel you needed someone to talk to.” Her voice is sweet and tender. At the same time, it’s full of knowledge.
Ronan’s grip tightened again on his table.
“Do you know her?”
He looks at me and he follow my gaze on his grip. “No.” he sighed.
“You look like you are not okay.”
He looks at me again “Why are you looking at me?”
I searched his face and some sort of emotion. This isn’t a normal reaction from someone like him. Then it likes a bell ring on my head.
“What happened to you that night?” all of a sudden, I remembered the night he came home. This is his look and emotion eight years ago. That is why I puzzled it if it ever be connected to that night.
He clenched his fist more as he held my gaze, for some time we forgot that we are in the middle of a room that full of people. It’s feels that we are talking to each other with our own eyes.
“Ronan?” It's like I found out some part of him that I shouldn't know, that's the way he looks at me at this moment. I would have held him by the hand but he suddenly stood up that caught the attention of everyone and left the classroom without looking back. What happened to him that night that triggers him to the new University Psychiatrist. What happened? For all I know from his statement to the police, a woman who is allegedly kidnapped him and she hasn’t been found after so many years. Or is he already killed the woman for vengeance? From what I witness from him for the past days, he’s capable of doing that.
The break comes and Demi is waiting for me at our usual table at the cafeteria.
We eat and talk “Did you managed to talk to your father about California?” Demi wants to study college at the University of California. But his Dad wants her to study in England.
She shook her head “Not yet, Mom and Dad is busy lately.”
I nod “I am sure you can convince them.” I smiled at her assuringly.
She looks behind me then back at me.
“Why?” I asked her.
"Did you do something to Ronan?"
“Nothing.” I shrug, eating my lunch “Why would you ask?”
“He’s looking at you right now and I can tell it’s not good.” She cringed.
I looked behind me to find him looking at me, sending daggers at my direction. I rolled my eyes on him, being tired on his own games that he decides to include me sometimes.
“Don’t mind him.”
“Oh my god! Oh my god!” Demi covered her mouth hysterically.
“What?”
“He’s coming here.”
As soon as I turned around, Ronan grabbed my hand and walk me out of the cafeteria, all eyes are on us, I am sure.
“What are you doing?”
When we came out of the cafeteria, he backed me up the wall and hold my neck possessively. It's like he's holding my life or some sort.
“What are you doing, Ronan?” I breathe.
“Do it again.” He growls.
“Do what?!” I sound so pissed, because I am.
“Roll your f*****g eyes on me again.”
I scoffed “So that is what this is all about?” I chuckled and he gripped my neck even more, I stopped. “You are being a brat, Ronan.” I teased him.
He tilts his head, some student passed us by, looking and trying to make out what Ronan and I were talking, whether we seem to be talking in this position. Not a normal talk, at least.
“Get off me.”
He backed me on the wall harder “Try.”
“f**k you, Ronan!” I am mad. He’s treating me like I am an animal on his hold, on his mercy.
He chuckles “Oh, I am sure I will.”
I punch his chest, blood rising on my head “You filthy bastard!”
"That's not what you told me last night when I was savoring your soft lips, baby." He really strengthened what he said. For the other students to hear, and i f*****g blushed. I'm shy. They shouldn’t know that Ronan Hawthorne the Devil kissed the Reverend’s daughter. It's sin.
Gasp and whispering filled the cafeteria inside and the hallway.
He smirks at my redness and remove his grip on my neck.
“f**k you.” I growl.
“I just told you you will. Just tell me.” he leans closer to whisper something on my ear “I will gladly f**k you here for everyone to see.”
He left without looking back, he left me in pure embarrassment.
