Alice turned to look at her friend, and she responded, “He's the one.”
She answered the call and cleared her throat to speak, but he interrupted. “Why are you not home now?” Oliver yelled on the phone.
“I warned you before leaving the hospital. This marriage can't be over until I say so. A deal is a deal. Your useless brother would have been dead by now if not for the favour my mother rendered to you. And that is the thank-you she gets? Don't dare me, Alice! I will be waiting for you, and don't let that snitch of a friend deceive you. You know me better.” Oliver dropped his words without pondering the effect it would have on Alice and ended the call.
Meanwhile, Daniella overheard every word Oliver spilt out of her mouth. She got closer to her friend and pulled her closer to herself.
