Chapter 8 - reunion

Hayley pov

“Why?” Shane asks “because if I had told her she was a princess she would have told someone and they would tell someone thinking she was nuts and then eventually someone or he would have found us, it was best to think that she was human until it’s safe” mum says “you you left an entire kingdom, the prophecy state..” Jacob starts to say but doesn’t get a chance to finish as mum jumps in “the prophecy?! That stupid prophecy is the reason my daughter is being hunted! We were forced out of her home, to leave my mate, to live amongst humans serving humans, losing my wolf and becoming human that prophecy ruined everything.” Mums all but screaming. It’s like I can feel her anger. “What prophecy?” I ask. Jacob turns and says “it was a prophecy written a long time ago by the first royal” he then goes into a bag I didn’t realise he had been holding. Brings out a big book and flips through it. Mums giving him a look full of hatred from across the table.

Jacob coughs a little and then begins to ready from his book

“ Worlds will collide,

Allies will be made,

A child will be born,

Both pure and true,

Stronger than any before them.”

He looks at me and my mother and continues reading

“Corrupted by power

The power divides

One seeks peace

The other seeks vengeance

The truth will come to light

When the sky turns red,

The princess is thought to be dead,

The king will vanish,

And the throne will be taken,

The light becomes dark.”

My mother interrupts him “ we don’t need to hear this it’s rubbish anyway”

“The prophecy isn’t rubbish, the night we thought you died the sky was red and then the throne taken, now can I continue or will you keep interrupting me queen tamara?” “Stop calling me that” she says back. Jacob turns back to the book.

“When the sky turns white,

The one who was lost will return,

secrets will be told,

And The royal will awaken,

Both pure and true,

A war will be sought,

Truths will come to light,

Betrayals will be revealed

Only the strong can survive.”

“This must mean the princess is awakening? And the truth that you are both alive? But the sky wasn’t white? And What about the betrayals though?” Shane asks. “Why doesn’t everybody keep interrupting me. The sky may turn white once she has fully awoken. I don’t sense a wolf so maybe it’s still waking up now let me finish” Jacob says. He sighs and then turns back to the book

“When aurora reaches the sky,

The war has begun,

The alpha leads the battle,

He will be deceived by two,

For both love and hatred,

Many might be lost,

If forgiveness is not given,

When the fight is done

The last take their place,

The territory united,

Once more under the throne.”

Jacob closes the book and puts it back in his bag. “That prophecy could be true, or it could be some rubbish and old women cooked up before she died. Nobody knows. That crazy alpha believes he can take power from her by mating with her willing or not. That is not how it works. A royals true mate gains some abilities after mating but a chosen does not unless they both didn’t have a mate out there. Spouting all of this now changes nothing. It just puts my daughter in danger” my says looking directly at Jacob. “Your majesty, this is about your daughter, I just never realised it. The princess being dead part is definitely your daughter, then throne was taken. The king vanished. Now your daughter changed for the first time which is clearly the royal awakening. Not sure about the alpha ? maybe the rouge alpha? And the battle must be once we discover who the alpha is and when Hayley becomes a full wolf once more” Jacob tells my mother.

I stand look around the table everything is getting too much, my mum is not a queen. I want to get out of here “I am not a wolf. I don’t know why it happened before but I am a human, my dad is a human and my mother is a witch. I don’t know why you’re calling her a queen or why you think I’m some chosen one from a prophecy. I just want to go home and forget all about your weird prophecy, this pack and all of you” I start to walk away when everyone starts shouting me back. I need some air. I need out of the is house. I start to run and find myself in the garden. I see that nobody is around and run for the forest. Just as I’m about to cross from grass to forest I see a sick looking wolf a bit back in the forest.

My mother suddenly comes bursting out the garden door with everyone else in tow. My mother reaches me first and then looks at where I’m looking. Something in my chest hurts. Like it hurts seeing the wolf this way. My mum starts crying then sobbing. Jacob catches up and looks at the wolf too. He then bows “your highness” the wolf charges right at us. My mother moved me behind her and the wolf stops inches away from us. Lays down at my mother’s feet and starts howling. Mum lets go of me and starts hugging it. We stand there for a good 10 minutes while mum holds the sick wolf, many have came out the house and just watching. I step forward to tell mum to get away it looks sick I see it starting to get better. It’s black fur going from grey to pure black. Wounds on it start healing. Its even started to smell better.

After what felt like hours mum let’s go and the wolf stands. It’s like it’s grown in height and muscle, like a completely different wolf than before. It the starts shaking. And bones snap. I had to turn away it looked and sound painful and I don’t want to know what’s happening, I then hear “my love, I’ve missed you” and then my mother sobbing again. I turn back to see a man. Blonde hair like mine. Blue eyes like mine, and that he is a completely naked man holding my mother, why is a naked man holding my mother?

So I did the only logical thing I could think of just asked.

“Ummmm…. Excuse me? Why are you naked and holding my mother?”

He looks up and laughs.

After he finishes laughing my mother stands and helps him to his feet and Jacob hands him some shorts, he puts them on and my mother comes and takes my hands, “sweetheart, this is your birth father” “wait so this is my dad? I’m a princess?and I’m Some weird wolf witch thing that’s written about in some prophecy that some old man wants to marry?” “Well technically yes but it’s more complicated than that” Jacob says “you are not helping” my apparent dad says now he’s dressed, he walks towards me and continues speaking, “after your mother took you and ran like I told her, the further away she got the harder it was to control my wolf, eventually he broke out and went feral being away from his mate and pup for so long not knowing where they were. Now that I have found you I’ve began to heal, on the outside I may look okay now thanks to your mother, but it’ll take longer inside to heal, aswell as mentally for both me and my wolf” as he finishes the man I thought was my father comes through the door, escorted by who I’m assuming is a maid.

He comes running and holds me tight, then hugs my mother, my birth father starts growling and shifting, mum jumps out dads arms and goes over to him, she started whispering in his ear and he stopes shifting and growling but stays rooted to the spot still tense. Dad then starts checking me over asking me if I was okay and if I was hurt, i tell him I’m okay and not hurt and that Shane had been very kind since I’ve arrived aswell as everyone else that I’ve met so far, my dad turns round back to my mother and everyone else when Jacob and my father make eye contact, Jacob says “mate”
