I'm a little nervous because today was my first day of work. I'm also nervous because I'll be meeting all of the staff and crew today.
But I'm going to have to grin and bear it because I don't have a choice. I took a deep breath as I approached the restaurant's entrance and then entered.
Barb then greeted me, I gave her a warm smile then she came over to hug me. "Hello, Ruru. Are you looking forward to your first day?" I gave her a nervous smile as I looked at her. "I'm excited, but I feel like I'm going to puke,
She then looked at me and touched my face, as if checking to see if I was sick. I then giggled and moved away from her touch.
"No, I'm not sick, I'm just nervous," She then looked at me as if I were attempting to hide something. "Are you sure?" When I pinched her cheeks, she started whining. "I promise I'm fine, Barbs,"
It's a good thing I have a friend like Barb because I'm not sure what I'm going to do. After a while, Manager Roy came in and smiled at us.
"Good morning to you two," he said as he approached me. "Are you prepared for your first day at work? By the way, I'll be introducing you to some of our crew and staff later; don't worry, they're all friendly," He smiled reassuringly at me.
I then smiled and nodded in response. He then exited and returned to his office. I'm curious about the people I'll be working with here.
I hope they're all nice people. I then started changing into my uniform and getting ready before the restaurant opened. I was already waiting for customers to serve when the restaurant opened.
This is going to be a long and exhausting day. After a long day of waiting tables, I went to the Men’s bathroom to change back into my clothes.
After changing back into my clothes I went outside the bathroom and noticed Barb approaching me. "Hey, Ruru, you did a fantastic job today.
By the way, Manager Roy wants you to meet the entire staff right now," I nodded and went along with barb.
Oh well, best of luck to me. As I walked into the office, I noticed about 35 people. By the way, the family restaurant where I work isn't particularly large, so it makes sense that we only have a few employees.
Manager Roy then started introducing me to everyone. "Rumi, this is Jake, our executive chef," I then smiled at him. Jake was a very tall man who appeared to be quite intimidating.
He had light blonde hair and pale blue eyes. To be honest, he looked like any other jock you'd see in a movie. He proceeded to shake my hand and smile at me.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Rumi," Manager Roy then introduced me to a very petite woman with natural ginger hair and cute little freckles on her face.
She then shook my hand and gave me a shy smile. "Hello, Rumi. My name is Scarlett, and I work here as a cashier," As a response, I gave her a smile and nodded my head.
I was then introduced to a girl with light pastel pink hair with a stoic face, and, to be honest, she appears unapproachable.
"Her name is Margaret, but we call her Marj around here," Manager Roy said as he introduced her to me. I then looked at her and smiled, trying to be friendly, but she just stared at me with a deadpan face.
Wow, she appears to be a real b*tch. I'm not sure why she was acting that way. Perhaps it's the time of the month.
Manager Roy eventually got around to introducing me to everyone, but we were apparently missing one person. He said it was the Assistant chef, and he wasn't here today due to an emergency.
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to run into him at work one of these days. After all of that work and introduction, I said my goodbyes to them and went to see my mother in the hospital for a few minutes before returning home.
"I'm home!" I exclaimed. Reya then appeared and came over to hug me. Her companion then emerged.
"Hello, Mrs. Benson," She then came over to me and hugged me tightly. "Rumi, how are you? And how is your mother's condition?" I gave her a sad smile and sighed deeply.
"My mother is still in the hospital, and I'm already working part-time as a waiter to help pay the bills," She then gave me a sympathetic look. "If you ever need anything or assistance, please let me know.
I'll even have my daughter Hannah babysit Reya for as long as she can, or if my daughter is unavailable, I'll watch Reya for you like I did today,”
Mrs. Benson has been a long-time friend of my mother's, so her help was to be expected, and I truly appreciate it because I desperately need all the help and support I can get.
"I appreciate it so much, Mrs. Benson," She then hugged me and looked at my face. "It's not a problem, Rumi. I've already prepared dinner for you and your younger sister; go wash up and join us for dinner,"
I nodded and continued on my way. Despite everything that has happened, I am extremely grateful to my parents. They have really wonderful friends who got their back, which is why I'm not so lonely.
I can't help but be deeply touched. After washing up, I went down and ate dinner with them before washing the dishes and saying goodnight to Mrs. Benson. My body is so tired that I fell asleep right away.
When I woke up, I found myself inside the library. When did I get here, and how did I get here? This is so weird, oh well whatever. I then looked around and noticed that there was no one else in here.
I went downstairs to check, but no one was there, not even Jodie. Oh my God, what happened. Why aren't there any people? I started screaming in the hopes that someone would hear me, but no one seemed to be around.
I went back upstairs and felt compelled to visit the most secluded section of the library. I went there and noticed that it was extremely dark and creepy.
Suddenly, I felt cold, and I stood there staring at the dark hallway, feeling scared, so I backed up when I unexpectedly bumped into someone behind me.
I screamed so loudly that I collapsed on the floor, closing my eyes and raising my hands in a protective gesture.
The person I ran into started giggling. "You should have seen your expression, it's so funny," I began to feel embarrassed.
"You're the strange one, suddenly scaring me; don't you have anything better to do than play pranks?" I yelled angrily at this person. Then I heard this person laugh, which irritated me even more.
I then stood up to finally see the culprit, and to my surprise, it was the handsome guy I had seen before at the library. I was so taken aback that I kept staring at him. He just smirked and smiled at me.
"If you see something you like, take a picture of it; it will last longer," My face suddenly warmed up. And then suddenly he approached me and seemed to want to touch my face, but I pushed him away before he could.
"I know you! You’re the guy that smiled at me here before. Are you following me?" He then looked at me as if I were the funniest meme he'd ever seen, and then burst out laughing like there was no tomorrow.
I just stood there dumbfounded, staring at this crazy guy laughing. "Are you finished? Because I'm starting to get really annoyed here,"
He then stopped laughing and wiped his phony tears away. He mischievously looked at me and then began to move towards me with this annoying smirk on his face.
"What if I did stalk you? What if I did it because I like you? Could you blame me? You're such a charming young man," He then winked at me and pushed me up against a wall, trapping me in his arms.
"Wait, what are you doing?" I started to stutter and get really nervous. He then looked at me, bit his lower lip, and stared at my lips. I started to feel very scared.
What was this strange guy about to do to me? Was he going to kiss me? As I felt his face move closer to mine. I can't stop myself from closing my eyes and puckering my lips.
I then waited for him to kiss me when I opened my eyes and saw him stifling a laugh at me. "You're completely insane!" I shoved him and slapped him all over his chest. This person's audacity. I swear to God. And he's still laughing as if nothing happened. What a really strange guy.
