CHAPTER 1
"wow! I don't see anything fascinating about this new house!" Adaora sarcastically commented as she dropped the last suitcase in her hand on the ground.
She had her eyes staring awfully at the new house they just relocated into.
She and her family.
This is the complete description of her family;
Mr. Stephen, her disciplinary strict dad who's actually a police inspector.
Mrs. Juliana Stephen, the lady of the house, her mom, who's actually a nurse in a federal medical hospital.
Then, her sister, Chikamso Stephen, just twenty-two years old, young, pretty, flawless and innocent.
She studies in a good college.
Now, lastly, Adaora Stephen, just seventeen years old, the baby of the house. Young, more prettier, an olive skin tone, flawless but very stubborn, fierce and fearless. Also, she's still a highschool student.
The apple of the family's eye.
There's no male child at all.
"I had to pay for this one. We needed it urgently" Juliana, her mom, said in response to Adaora's mockery.
But, take a better look at this house. It's so stuffy. Little and weird looking. Ew!
"I still don't understand why you guys urged us out of the other house. It's at least better than this one" Adaora grouched with a disgusted face.
It was Chikamso who saw her parents exchange weird glances as if they had some hidden secrets.
Moreover, they did all the arrangements, dusted the house, got it neat and sparkling until it was already evening.
"When is your school leaving for the camp?" Chikamso asked Adaora.
"In three days time"
"Three days time? " Juliana repeated in surprise.
"What?" Adaora didn't expect her to be that surprised because she informed them earlier than this. Hope her parents are not going to change their minds and try to prevent her from leaving.
They are always preventing her from moving around but Chikamso gets to go wherever she wishes to.
She still doesn't understand why her parents are always caging her.
"I told you. Daddy, you knew about it too" she said, trying to gain her dad's support. Even though her dad is a strict man, he's always going to support her.
"Adaora, can you___"
"No! No! No!" Adaora shouted in refusal because she knew just what her mother was going to say.
She has gotten angry. "I will join the camping" she insisted.
She just can't always be treated this way. She has missed many several events just because of how insecure her parents always feel around her.
They don't want her going far away.
Why?
For goodness sake, she will soon be turning eighteen.
She deserves some privilege.
She sat on the couch with her hands crossed and a frown on her face.
"Your dad and I are traveling tomorrow to the Villa for a friend's funeral" she heard her mom speak, trying to emotionally blackmail her.
No! She will certainly not miss this particular camp.
All the Senior graduating students are going for it so, why can't she? This will be the last time the senior graduating students will have to gather together, stay together and even party together.
Why should she be an exceptional?
It's going to be fun.
Missing this camp will cause her a lot of pain.
"You are not staying there forever" she ironically told her mom, her eyes were widely staring at her.
"Once we return from the funeral, we will come to a final decision" she heard her dad say something she didn't even know if it was in her favour.
Still, no matter what they say, she's surely going for the camp.
She looked up and saw Chikamso staring awkwardly at her. It's not like she cares. "Good night" she said before going to bed.
She can't stop dreaming about the camp.

It wasn't even long and.... it's morning.
"Adaora?!" Chikamso woke her up.
She was in the kitchen, cooking breakfast.
Adaora got up lazily, forgetting that she has class today.
As soon as she looked at the clock, she got up immediately from bed.
"What about Mom and Dad?" She asked because obviously, they're nowhere to be seen.
"They already left for Villa"
"What!" Adaora screamed. They left without saying anything to her? No goodbye? Are they upset with her?
"You are lying" she refused to believe Chikamso. She tried checking around the house but...."how could they leave without waking me up?"
"You are always complaining. Besides, they left you some cash for school"
"That's not fair" Adaora sadly pouted. "Did I behave badly last night? Was I wrong in insisting on what I wanted?"
"I don't know" Chikamso was just as confused. She turned off the cooker, ready to dish the food. "Mom and dad are always acting weird. But, whatever they do is for our good. "
Adaora crossed her hands, trying to think carefully and wisely.
Seriously, Chikamso is right but when it comes to her own case, their parents are always overboard.
It isn't fair.
Ok, what could be the reason for such a weird behavior?
"Well...I should just go to school. You will return before me, huh?"
"We are having noon lectures today. So, you are going to take the keys with you"
"Better!" Adaora quickly rushed to the washroom.
~HIGH SCHOOL~
Adaora lazily packed her notebooks back into her backpack as she reluctantly faced her bestie, Chizzy who has been staring suspiciously at her .
Is her frustration so obvious on her face?
Well, Chizzy has been her bestie since primary school.
They studied in the same primary school and coincidentally, they met in the same highschool, same classrooms.
They discovered that they share most things in common.
This gave them a very strong friendship and they always worked together. Probably, they became tight friends.
"We finally relocated to a new house" she told Chizzy, boringly.
"Finally! You guys relocated!" Chizzy was excited.
"But, it's still old looking. I don't even like it" Adaora added with a sigh. "But, that's not even my problem. My mom and dad literally do not want me to join this camp"
She saw how sad and surprised Chizzy was.
Obviously, anyone would be surprised to hear this.
All the senior graduating students are going for this, for goodness sake!
Why does she have to be excluded?
"Why? Didn't you tell them how important this is?"
"You're talking as if you literally don't know my parents" Adaora grouched sadly.
"Adaora, I can't imagine this camping without you there. I will feel bored there. And, I'm not used to these people especially, Bianca__"
"I think I heard my name!" Some girl shouted from the backbench.
She's tall, fair and specially beautiful. She got up from her seat and walked down to Chizzy and Adaora.
She's just the only girl in the entire senior section whom all girls are scared of except.... Adaora.
She has been in different clashes with Adaora several times.
They aren't in good terms at all.
Chizzy ignorantly twitched her mouth when she saw Bianca approaching. "Here comes the troublemaker" she murmured under her voice.
"Were you gossiping with my name?" Bianca questioned them.
"What is it about you that we have to talk about?" Chizzy fearlessly questioned her.
She's only this brave when she has her backbone, Adaora, with her.
Bianca could only give an unpredictable smirk. "You've gotten a sharp tongue like your bestie, haven't you?"
Adaora decided not to engage herself in this unnecessary arguments. Besides, she has a lot going on in her mind.
She rested her head on the desk, looking so dull and sad.
This is unlike her. She's always been a cheerful person but today..... it's quite obvious on her face that she's not fine.
Bianca must have noticed the awkwardness on Adaora's face. Besides, it's not like she cares.
"Good day class!" A teacher stepped into the classroom. A female teacher. She looks like the math teacher, Ms. Tina
All the students sat their butts on their seats, keeping their mouths shut.
"I hope you all have paid for the camping?" The teacher asked. But her eyes went straight to Adaora. "Won't you be joining this time?"
Adaora sadly pouted. "I...I really don't know." She shrugged.
"It's not like we will be needing her!" They all heard Bianca scream from the back.
That was rude. Awful!
"That's enough, Bianca" the teacher scolded her. "Adaora, this is going to be your last get together with your fellow students. Try to convince your parents."
Adaora dully nodded her head.
This is sickening.
Everyone keeps talking about the camp.
Why is her mom and dad doing this to her?
God, it's your time to help your daughter
