Infinite Ladder

There were eight planets in the solar system, and the two of them sustained life. One was Earth, and the other was Jupiter. They were taught that Earth was a beautiful planet, but humans destroyed its beauty and nearly killed it. When the Earth was dying, the humans begged the Gods to save it, and from billions of Gods, a few handfuls of them took pity and saved the Earth. But the humans were scared that they would destroy this beautiful planet again, and so, they begged the Gods and Goddess to stay and rule them, so they couldn't do it. The Gods and Goddesses were moved by their prayers and devotions, and so they decided to stay and guide humans. But the Demons didn't like that. With the Gods and Goddesses staying on Earth, they had no way to influence humans. It was written in books that the Demons opened the Gates of Hell to populate Jupiter. Demons built an army that the daughter of Satan led. And that was the start of the war that had been going for the past ten years. But most of the time, the war was in space outside the two planets, and that is why they could still safely live on Earth. But there were times when they could see the sparks of battle, powers that covered the space in water, fire, land, light, and things like those. There were even times when they could see Titans and Giants fighting in the space. It was her big brother's favorite pastime. Every day they came back from school, he would go to the roof to see the equipment he set up to record any action missed. That meant that she had to cook lunch for both of them in the afternoon. Although if you asked her, she would preferably come home, watch Tv, sleep. But then, it was one rare hobby that her big brother had, it was his dream, and it made him happy, and that was more than enough reason for her to work a little more. She opened the rusted iron door of the roof, looking at the place covered with cotton cloth, essentially to hide all the costly equipment from the thieves. Her eyes fell on the monitors and a dozen telescopes attached with monitors. And in front of ones of the monitors was her big brother, "brother, I made food." "What is it?" She grinned, knowing what his expression was going to be when he heard what she made, "Taco." It seemed as if his whole world had been brightened up after hearing the word Taco. To the point where she had to cover her eyes just to save her from future blindness. But soon, the brightness dulled down, "hey, if you don't mand. Can you bring it here?" "No, you know the house rules. No work during breakfast, lunch, or dinner!" Her big brother rubbed his head, struggling, sighing before he dragged himself back to her. She happily took his head, moving down the stairs, "so? Did you find anything?" "Nah, the battlefield has been weirdly quiet for the past week. It seems that only the mechs are fighting this week. I haven't even seen Elves, Titans, or other Demonic Races." She chuckled, hearing the disappointment in her big brother's voice, "So, you didn't get a chance to record hot otherworldly women. With torn armors, revealing their flesh?" Her big brother didn't make excuses when it came to things like these, "it's tough to find ones that aren't covered in blood. But those are the real treasure - they also sell for a good price. Where do you think I get money for my equipment." She giggled, sitting down at the table for four, with two plates, near a window. A few pictures of them around, a television, a sofa, a low table near the couch. And a kitchen that was visible from here. She stopped smiling, watching him eat, "I do know, but the Mecha's aren't any less popular. Why not use them?" "A lot of them do that, but there are many that are scared to take pictures of the women. Any woman that is up there is absurdly strong. Some of them can sense things like these. I heard the last time one of them came down to punish the guy secretly photographing them. Someone threw a thunderbolt down to destroy all the equipment while someone's house became flooded." "I didn't know that," She worriedly frowned. She knew almost everything about her big brother, but this was something she didn't know.' He smiled at her, "don't worry. I put my pictures near each of the telescopes. With a pretty face like mine, I am not getting zapped. At most, I will sell my body to them." She held her head, "please tell me that you are not living in a fantasy where you get to have relationships with an alien?" Her big brother looked up, blinking, "what, am I not pretty enough?" She narrowed her eyes, looking at him. He had the silkiest of the short spiky black hair that felt great in her hands. It was a topic of envy for boys since this was more of a natural hairstyle for him than the products. And his red eyes were good enough to enchant anyone that looked into them. As for his level of handsomeness, it was off the roof. It was a topic of discussion that he didn't awaken one ability, but two. One of them being supernatural handsomeness and the other being the body blessed by God. Although so, he was still a virgin with dreams of finding the right one, the perfect one. Which although she found it naive, she accepted even something she admired. That was why when he joked about selling his body in exchange, she was more worried that even if a succubus came down seducing him. He would say no to her. Which, in turn, might create a bigger problem. That was why it was up to her to protect her big brother. She stood up, "No! This can't continue! I know this might upset you, but I have to shut down all those pieces of equipment." She rushed up before he even had the chance to reject, rushing up to cut off the power, pulling back the telescopes, adjusting the cotton sheets - so they cover the whole roof. Once she was satisfied with her own work, she went down, humming in the joy that she saved her big brother from certain death. When she got down, her big brother was leisurely eating while watching television. She went down, hugging him front behind, "I am sorry, but I had to. Please don't be angry!" Her big brother raised his hand, patting her head. His scarlet eyes gazing into her turquoise blue eyes, with a smile hanging on his perfect lips, "there is no way I can be upset with my little sister." She happily grinned as she straightened up, putting her hands together, "good! I will cook your favorite tonight!" Even though he was usually at dinner, but since she took away his favorite hobby, this was the least she could do. Wait, that line of thought made her stop humming and stop in her tracks. She narrowed her beautiful eyes, putting her slender finger on her symmetrical red lips, which had a heavily defined cupid's bow. She turned back, standing behind her big brother, "I decided to take away the hoppy that you love the most, and you are not angry." Her big brother shook his head, "I am upset, but that doesn't mean I have to be angry with you." She narrowed her eyes, staring at the back of his head, "or maybe, you were planning to shut it down from the beginning. That was why you suddenly told me the dangers of your work, knowing I would stop you?" He let out a sigh, turning back, "Amara, are you saying that your big brother knew that his little sister loves him so much. That if he told her of the dangers of his work, she would stop him front doing it. To achieve that, she would remove the equipment, adjust the sheets, and do other grunt work? I would never do that." Suddenly a shadow crossed, and her big brother stood up, taking her hand to rush to the window, looking outside, "I knew it! I recognized that shadow - it's a dragon!" Amara put her hand on the window, watching the massive red dragon pass by. It flapped its immense wings as it went up in the sky, disappearing behind the clouds. She turned her eyes towards a city with broken buildings covered in moss and plants. A tall mecha, sitting there on its one knee, its body was pieced with spheres and swords that were wielded by giants. She stood there, feeling her big brother's warmth as he stood behind her, "if you have decided to quit your hobby...does that mean you are saying yes to the offer they made you?" Her big brother pulled her into a hug, kissing her head, "Yes, I have decided to become a Monster Hunter."
