It was really a cliche story. Something you’ll find out of a novel written by a teen whose imagination was mainly fed by other cliche stories.

That was what Ameia Ongtienco first thought when she found herself tangled in this scandalous mess.

Literally scandalous.

Not only did she manage to make headlines after winning the Best New Actress Award one year after her debut through her debut movie “A Mother’s Pain”, she also managed to enter the business section in the tabloid.

Not only did she manage to bag an award, she also managed to capture the Billionaire’s aloof son’s attention. And affection.

And hell be damned. She just can’t win against this adorable 5 year old son who won't let her go.

She’s doomed.

The only way she can think of to get out of this scandalous mess unscathed is to be the Billionaire’s Pretend Wife.

CHAPTER 1
Oh my God! Ameia can’t help but scream in her mind as she was struck with unexplainable feelings. She can’t really define what she’s feeling right now.  Happiness. Doubt. Excitement.  Mix them all up and that’s what Ameia was feeling right now.  She just can’t believe what she heard.  She just debuted months ago. Or maybe a year.  She managed to land an audition to a rookie filmmaker, Bobby Antonette, film third film, A Mother’s Pain. Compared to his previous works, this film was completely in a different direction. It tackles a young woman’s hardship and discrimination for being pregnant too early. How she juggled multiple jobs at the time in order to provide a decent environment for her baby boy to grow up.  At the end of the film, it showed her all wrinkly and old. With a happy smile on her face as she took a picture with her son for his college graduation. The film ends with a note saying “Thank you for all your hard work.”  She played the young version of the main character, Alezza Miranda. A young bright woman in her early 20s with brown eyes and green eyes (a similar feature she has) who was knocked up after her high school graduation celebration. She felt a connection to the character, as she was once told her mother’s path was almost identical before they met her father.  “Mama!” Ameia screamed as soon as her mama answered the phone. There she saw her youthful looking mother dressed in a knitted dress. And beside her was her Papa, who was grumbling but still gave her a smile.  “Darling! Hello. How are you there? Is there something you wish to tell us?”  “Mama, you won't believe it. I managed to be one of the nominees for the Best New Actress Award!” “Oh, honey! That's wonderful news. Are you going home? We should celebrate! I’m sure your uncles and aunties will be really glad to hear this news. We also miss you.”  “It really is, Papa.” Ameia laughed lightly. “But I was just nominated. I’m still not sure if I’ll win the award. And I’ll probably visit after the Award Ceremony and my fan signing. After that, I’ll stay for a month or so! We should go to the place where you and Mama always talk.” “That’s great. I can’t wait for it!” her Mama said.  They talked for almost an hour or so. It only ended when she noticed the time. It was too late for her parents to stay up. She also can't act oblivious to her father’s subtle hints that they have another appointment. Or whatever.  After the call ended, she next called her manager and friend, Anastacia.  They talk about her plans and schedule. Then about her plan to visit her parents.  It lasted for about an hour or two also.  It was really a great event for Ameia.  She was happy that she was able to reach a wide variety of audience that was touched and connected with her character.  She was really awed by Alezza’s character in the film. A young woman who fought for her son’s future. Her admiration for mothers really boosted. She was once again reminded of how tough being a mother is and how everyone should applaud them for that. Although she was hoping that she'd win this award, she was also wishing that even if she didn’t, maybe Alezza’s love for her son and her strength would influence other people.  *** It was a rowdy night. Ameia can breathe in the air. That's how cold this night is. She doesn't even know how she managed to walk on the red carpet without tripping. Beneath her (fake) fur scarf that adds an extra bit of allureness to her red mermaid-style dress, she was shivering. It didn't help that her hair was tied into an elegant bun also. "Good evening, dear Ameia!" The main host of the event, Alicia Johnson, greeted her as she exited the centre of the platform. She let out a small smile at her and at the camera. Feeling quite shy and excited. "This is your first time here at the Award Ceremony, yes? And all while being a rookie! Can you tell us how you feel about all this craziness?" "To be honest? I'm cold. I don't even know if it's because of this weather or because of the fact that, as you said, a rookie that just got invited to the Award Ceremony. I didn't even dream of this, well maybe I did, but not this soon, you know." she let out a chuckle. "It honestly still felt too surreal to me. As if I'm dreaming. And please, if I am, don't wake me up, Anastacia. I'm still having a blast here." They both laugh. Even some cameramen and some onlookers managed to hear her laugh at her statement. "I also watched your movie, A Mother's Pain. And I was honestly brought to tears. After watching, I think I managed to buy my mother several gifts she told me she didn't want. All while crying and expressing my love to her at midnight. Even to my mother's surprise! So, please, tell us how you managed to film such an emotional role and what motivated you to audition as Alezza?" "Honestly, it was similar to what my mother experienced before she met my father once again. And to answer, what motivated me to audition as Alezza was maybe my admiration for my mother. I really don't think I remember this correctly, but before, after I was determined to become an actress, I promised to myself that I would do a role that would pay tribute to my mother. Yeah, that's it. Haha! Sorry if it was all dramatic, but yeah." "Oh, gosh, no! I was just in awe of you right now, Ameia. It really dawned on me how dedicated an actress you are. We won't take you up on this. Any message for your fans or maybe the kids that will possibly be listening to this right now?" "I want to thank all my fans who supported me and love me despite me being a rookie. I want to say that you are all loved and I love you all. Thank you again. Have a nice night, everyone." After a minute of some small talk, Ameia was ushered inside. And baam. She managed to win the award. Making headlines after headlines. Ameia Ongtienco, the New Darling of the Crowd.
