CHAPTER ONE:Take me there
♡☆♡
"Why are you like this?? Why are you doing this to me? Why??"
"Are you seriously asking me that??" the man replied coldly. "I thought I warned you long ago. I don't do love or relationships, and I never will. And you, of all people, should already know how I deal with anyone who breaks the conditions in the contract."
June watched Olivia fall to her knees.
The almighty goddess almost every man was obsessed with now looked as though all the blood had drained from her body at once.
Then, just like that, another man dressed in black grabbed Olivia and dragged her toward another car.
When the car finally drove away, June slowly came back to her senses and quickly hid herself again.
"Come out," the man suddenly ordered. "I know you're there. NOW.
June froze in shock for a moment.
She knew he was talking to her.
She had been eavesdropping.
Holding her breath, she slowly stepped out from her hiding spot.
"Come over."
His command made her incredibly nervous.
She couldn't remember the last time someone had made her feel this scared before.
As soon as their eyes met, June almost gasped. The man before her was unbelievably handsome.
No… handsome was an understatement.
She was certain he was a hundred times more attractive than any celebrity she had ever seen.
He was tall, with inky black hair swept back carelessly as though he had combed it with his fingers. His jawline was sharp, masculine, and perfectly defined.
He looked unreal.
For the first time in her life, June found herself genuinely stunned by a man's beauty.
How could someone look this perfect?
No wonder Olivia begged for his love.
But despite his beauty, the man was glaring down at her coldly.
His eyes were hostile enough to make her want to disappear on the spot.
If looks could kill, she would already be dead.
"Who are you?" he asked icily. "A paparazzi?
June flinched at the resentment in his voice.
His cold gray eyes glimmered dangerously, sending chills through her body despite the freezing temperature.
At that moment, he reminded her of the inhumanly beautiful demon kings she often read about in novels.
"N-No. I'm not," she answered quickly, shaking her head.
His eyes narrowed.
Then he started walking toward her.
Every step he took felt like a ticking time bomb.
Surprisingly, though her knees trembled, June managed to stand her ground.
When he finally stopped less than a meter away from her, she bit her bottom lip nervously.
He scrutinized her like a predator observing its prey.
One look into those eyes was enough for her to realize that "dangerous" was far too small a word to describe him.
"Little kitten…" he murmured darkly. "Did you hear everything?"
His gaze was sharper than a dagger.
June swallowed hard.
"I'm sorry… I didn't mean to eavesdrop…"
Suddenly, the man raised his hand toward her neck.
June shut her eyes instantly, thinking he was about to strangle her.
But nothing happened.
Slowly, she opened her eyes again.
The man wasn't touching her neck.
Instead, he was focused on the purple knitted beanie on her head.
For some strange reason, the coldness in his eyes had vanished, replaced by an unreadable calmness.
His fingers lightly played with the edge of her beanie.
June froze.
Her heartbeat pounded wildly against her chest.
"Purple…" he murmured quietly before dropping his hand.
Then his expression changed again.
He no longer looked as cold as before.
"Leave."
Without another word, he turned away.
June exhaled shakily as she watched him walk toward the car.
She should have run away while she still had the chance.
Instead, she stood there, staring at his retreating figure.
Then suddenly
"Wait! Sir, wait!"
The driver had already opened the car door for him.
Her voice echoed through the cold garage.
"What?" he asked without turning around.
This time, June walked toward him fearlessly.
The fear in her eyes had disappeared, replaced with determination.
"Was everything you said true?" she asked. "That you don't do love or relationships?"
She stopped a short distance behind him.
"Are you really sure you'll never fall for anyone?"
The man finally turned to look at her.
His dark gray eyes studied her with disbelief… and then amusement.
"From what I understand," June continued carefully, "you're willing to make someone your girlfriend as long as she doesn't demand your love. Right?"
Silence fell between them.
The man stared at her as though she were some strange creature.
"Why are you asking?" he asked finally, a wicked smile curving against his lips.
"I'm just curious," she replied calmly. "Is it true?"
"So what if it is? And what if it isn't?"
June pressed her lips together.
"If it's true… how can you be so sure? Do you really believe you'll never fall for anyone?"
A low chuckle escaped his lips.
He looked like the devil himself when he laughed.
The amusement never reached his eyes.
"Purple," he drawled, "what exactly are you trying to say?"
His fingers brushed against the edge of her beanie again.
"I'm saying…" June hesitated before meeting his eyes boldly. "Maybe you just haven't met the right person yet. Someone capable of forcing your heart open."
"Little Purple…" he smirked dangerously. "Are you saying you want to try me?"
After a brief silence, June nodded.
That only made him laugh harder.
"I'm serious," she insisted.
But her seriousness seemed to amuse him even more.
After finally calming down, he spoke again.
"Too bad, Purple. Countless women have already tried." His eyes slowly traveled from her head to her toes. "And besides… I don't think you're capable of it."
His voice was smooth and dangerous.
"And you heard me correctly. I don't do love. Never. So don't waste your brain cells thinking about it."
But June remained unfazed.
"How about you try me?" she asked softly. "I promise I won't demand your love."
The man laughed again.
"Purple, you're quite a brave little lady."
"Stop calling me Purple," she snapped. "My name is June. And I'm not little. I'm almost twenty-Four"
The man chuckled again.
His laugh lingered strangely in her ears.
"Indeed," he murmured. "You are a brave little lady. Do you even know who I am?"
"No."
"And yet you're still here blindly offering yourself to me?"
June nodded.
"Because I don't care."
A dark smirk appeared on his face.
He stepped closer before gently lifting her chin with his fingers.
"Little kitten," he whispered, "you're standing before the gates of hell right now. Choosing this means ruining your life."
His blazing eyes locked onto hers.
"Are you ready to walk into hell with me?"
A dangerous warning burned inside his gaze.
June shivered slightly, but she didn't back away.
The possible outcome terrified her.
But when she thought about her future…
Was there really anything scarier than the life waiting for her already?
The silence stretched between them.
Finally, the man smiled triumphantly and patted her head.
"Hell isn't a good place for a little kitten like you," he murmured. "Run away while this demon is still being nice."
Then he turned to leave again.
But after taking two steps
"The hell you're talking about…" June whispered.
"I'd like to see it for myself."
"Take me there."
