CHAPTER FORTY-THREE : Once again, Michael and Jim were on night duty, parked where they had a good view over a large part of Newgate Street. They had arrived around two thirty in the morning and, using night-vision equipment, began their vigil. Francesca arrived early, shortly after three. As before, she was in the Volvo. Her car stopped, briefly, and then moved quickly away. The Italian walked, quite casually, towards what looked like an apartment block. She pressed some buttons near the doorway, entered the building and disappeared inside. The place looked quite old, but, presumably, had been re-furbished internally to provide modern apartments.
