CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN : Adrian used his radio to call for medical assistance, but it was quite obvious to anyone that the old man was well and truly dead, blood and brain matter spilling from his shattered skull. The senior intelligence officer decided that he had better stay at the crime-scene until somebody could take charge of the old man’s body. “You might as well return to the underground rooms to see if they need any further assistance.” Alex took one last look at the upturned face of the old man and realised that even with the damage to his head, the darkened colour was not just that of the face.
