CHAPTER TEN :15th. AUGUST, 2011 By nine the next morning, Alex had packed his bags, ready to leave the hospital after a total of four weeks in this famous institution. When his visitor arrived at ten thirty, Alex said his farewells to the diligent staff and gave particular thanks to Professor Goldman, who had made such a fantastic difference to his life. The un-named man introduced himself as Alex’s driver and escorted him out of the hospital to the car park. Alex had been told to remain ‘blind’ for this journey to the Ministry of Defence offices. Within forty minutes, he was walking along the quiet corridors of a large, anonymous building. Eventually, they reached the room where Alex felt certain that he was to meet the Brigadier General.
