Chapter 24 Miron The city looked different when you were walking toward the people who might kill you. Sun was barely up, just a thin wash of light over the glass towers. Traffic was lighter than usual. The air had that early-morning chill that would burn off by noon. Rayna walked beside me, hood up, hands jammed in her pockets. From a distance, we probably looked like any two people heading into downtown too early—some finance guy and his girlfriend, maybe. Close up, anyone with sense would notice all the wrong details.
