Alison rolled her eyes. "Ella can always be dramatic. Her man?"
"Yes. She's really obsessed about that man." Peter insinuated.
"No one cares about this sob story..just do what I said, okay? You'd really regret it if you fail me."
"Let them lose." Alison made her voice sound tough. It seemed like forever but finally, they had been set free and with one final stare, Alison made sure she made herself clear with Peter.
After he had left, Mira turned to face her with brows arched upward. "How did you know they're going bankrupt? And that he needed some money repaid by Brad?"
Alison smirked,"I've been married to that f*****g household for three years. That's how they do. When they're broke again, they push Ella to get married to some rich man around, she marries them for a couple of month and divorce him, taking half of his properties. It's a stupid cycle."
"Besides, they're here in Ettavile probably to start afresh. Richard Harrison is their last option and I'm ruining it for them." She added.
"That's a good thing then. You should really call Mr Richard and say big thank you to him. Now you're free from the Dark One and you've got a billionaire backing you up!" The excitement in Mira's eyes soon faded when she saw that Alison didn't look too happy.
"What's that look for?" She was forced to ask.
Alison's shoulders sunk, "I may have ruined any chance of that. Besides, look at me. Do I look like someone who is interested in finding romance?"
Mira started in a scolding tone, not even minding that Alison was her boss. "It's not just about romance. You need a powerful man behind you now more than ever. Everyone is against you, but this one?.he's nice to you. What more do you even want?"
"I don't trust anyone. I don't want to get hurt." Alison said like a baby.
"It doesn't-" Mira paused with a sigh. "You at least need a friend. You owe him a little something to say thank you. Be stood by you and is going to do that again. Only if you let him."
Meanwhile, Brad was busy querying Peter. He looked disgusted, watching him as he spoke. It has been a couple of hours since he sent him to Alison's house. And they found nothing that made sense!?
"That's enough." Brad said at once, cutting him off. "Are you assuring me right now that Alison didn't see you?"
Peter nodded. He kept his composure calm and cool. "She didn't see us. We left early."
"That's why you came with no f*****g thing?? What a bunch of imbeciles! So what if she has a manager and a PA? What am I suppose to do with that?" He grunted.
"They're really smart women surrounding her. That's why I--"
"--who f*****g cares!" Brad roared."Is she married or what?? Any secret kids? What's her latest move, her networth?" He felt his blood rising, almost like he could punch Peter right in the guts.
"You're f*****g useless! A big failure. Get out of my sight right now." He commanded. Peter gave a slight bow before walking out. He paused, then came back again.
"I understand that you're being careful around her. Since she isn't the kind of woman you use to look down on three years ago." He said plainly, Brad winced.
"What is the meaning of that!"
Peter ignored and went on anyway. "But the latest thing you need to look at is her relationship with Richard Harrison. They're not married, but I think their friendship might be leading to something stronger."
Brad could feel his blood boiling. He already had a feeing Alison was sleeping with rich men for money, but the Harrison?? That man terrified him because of how powerful and influential he was in the city. And now, he's sleeping with his wife?!--ex wife.
Brad couldn't say anything but just walked out. If he stayed any longer, he would really punch Peter.
On his way out, he began to think of a way out of this. Anything at all, that would make Alison pay. "She needs to suffer. How dare she be happy without me!" He growled.
Suddenly, a plan began to form in his head, and this smile...he was actually smiling now! He rushed back in to meet Peter.
"You, I have a task for you. It's so simple so I'll really be disappointed if you fail again."
Peter nodded. "I'll do my best, sir."
"Whatever. You said she was a writer now?" He didn't wait for Peter's reply,
"I want you to come up with a meeting with the press guy, Antonio? Tell him to come interview me. I have lots of sweet juicy stories about Alison..the whole word will know she used to be my poor beggar wife before she started sleeping with rich men for money."
