In A World of Magic

In this small village with most of them is ordinary people, Gale wake up early to sweep the village head's mansion. To live, he must work hard although he is only fifteen years old. It's a lie if he say he's not jealous of those who could join academy to learn magic. In this world, there's no empire because most of the territories are owned by the academy and guild also by another race. The so-called academy is a place where people treat it as their home, a place to learn everything such as magic, a place to contribute and get a resource. It's not a place just for teenage, it's open to everyone as long as you have any talent. While the guild is for the old one to get a resource because academy only recruit young people and then raise them untill they old. The guild will give you a missions from the request of locals. If you complete it, not only you get a reward but also contribution points which can be exchange by anything between the guild. Besides academy and guild, there's also a big and small family. The function is just like the academy, but the different is those who didn't come from their family and want to join them, it will be truly difficult. Unless if they have some connections with the family elders or if they have done something that make the family truly grateful. As Gale done his job, he goes to the waterfall behind the mansion. He came to greet the village head, the usual thing he has done ever since he got this job. The village head, Pall, nod his head. "Yes. You can continue your job now." "I understand." Before he could turn around to leave, Pall call him again. "Don't forget to feed my fish. They have been starving for two days because your Brother William has been sick." Brother William he is saying is not Gale's brother but rather to clear a seniority between them. It has been like this everywhere in this world. "This lowly one will remember." Then he continues doing his job. . . . "Brother Gale!" A girl called out. Her body is small and tender. She has a big, crystal eyes with sky blue colours. Her sun colours hair fluttering in the wind. When she called out earlier, her voice is like a beautiful melody. Anyone who passed by must turn their heads to look at her. "Little Sister Alice." Gale greets her with a smile. "I've told you so many times to call me just by my name. My age is just two years younger than you," she says somewhat dissatisfied. "How could I do that? If the village head know, the next day I would be skinned alive." This Little Sister Alice is the daughter of village head. Not to mention in this village, even in the nearby villages, her name and astonishing beauty is well known. So if people knew she is close to someone as lowly as him, doesn't he will be swarm by public anger? "Anyways, I've learned a new magic skills. Let me show you something," Alice says excitedly and grab Gale's hand. They arrived at the bamboo house that located at the center of the forest. It has been a secret place between them. It's been found by Alice at first and later she shared it with Gale. "Watch carefully." Alice began focus her mind and activate her magic. And then she began enchanting. "When gravity gone, everything floats up!" After that, some changes happen. Everything in a radius 300 metres, as long as it is a size of an adult fist, floats up in the air. Only after ten breath of time did it fall. Alice also slightly pale, obviously having consume a lot of energy. "That's amazing! Little Sister magic skills in gravity seems improved," Gale praised. "It's nothing much compared to those genius who had been learned in academy," Alice replied. "It's better than not being able to learn magic at all." "Sorry," Alice quickly apologize. She knows very well Gale cannot use magic. Every human in this world have a magic root in their bodies. This magic root is the source of their magic and also their foundation. If it's being destroyed, they will die and even if they can survive, they couldn't use magic anymore. Everyone's magic root is different which corresponds to the type of magic is the most suitable for them. After their magic root grows, they will have another type of magic that suitable for them. It's not like they can't use the magic other than the one suitable for them. They still can use it but it's not as easy as someone who is suitable for that magic. Not to mention, magic skills and magic spells also have different levels. So for someone who use magic that is not suitable for them, they can only use the low level one. In Gale's case, he was not born with magic root. No one knows why such a thing happened because normally, those babies who were not born with magic root will not survive. The most they can live is half a month. So for Gale who can last for fifteen years is shocking to many people but there's still some people who were not optimistic and speculated that Gale will not be able to live until 20 years. "There's nothing to be sorry about. Being able to meet Little Sister Alice is enough for me," Gale said with a leisure smile. "When I become stronger one day, I will definitely find a way for you to use magic. If I'm not finding it, I will not die in peace!" Alice said with a hand placed at her heart. When someone did that, it means they're swear for their life. "I will also help you." Alice nodded. After practice more in the previous magic skills, they returned. Alice must attend the magic class with her master, while Gale must continue his works. After that the village head will reward him with some bread and fish, sometimes he also will gives him many fruits. It has been like this everyday.
