New and Unbroken

Chapter 4

Arthur's POV (flashback)

It was a few days ago I was at the store picking up some things. I don't usually come into the human town the packland has almost everything, but there are a few things I can only get in town. specifically my favorite kind or chocolate. Speaking of chocolate what is that amazing smell are they baking a chocolate cake? It can't be this store does not have a bakery. I fallow my nose as subtly as possible I don't want the humans to notice my strange behavior. Suddenly I round a corner and see her she is the most beautiful person I have ever seen human, wolf, or any othe species for that matter. She is on the larger side but I as a wolf surrounded but gorgeous fit she wolves you think this would bother me, but it just didn't. My wolf stired inside of me "mine".

wait my mate this fragile looking human is my mate. With my wolf hearing I over heard he talking to her self (so cute I thought), she was tlking about her kids. Oh no I was too late she was taken. Suddenly she stopped and looked around. She didn't sense me did she that's not possible she's human. To be on the safe side I left the aisle broken inside. I glaced her one more time a we left the store perfect I thought. She looked around again and then she was gone. I was sureni would never see her again. Just my luck 30 years and no mate I finally find her and she is taken. I heard my wolf whine.

I headed back to the packland. When I got there before anyone could see me I shifted into my wolf Alistir. He was very large, deep black and had my green eyes. I was the Alpha although the other Alphas respected me less because I did not have a luna. It is unheard of for wolves to wait this long to find their mate.

I ran and ran until I came to the edge of the packland and I just lay they while my heart cried. I must have fallen asleep at some point I awoke to the most amazing smell of chocolate cake. It couldn't be I'm in the middle of nowhere. I move a little closer to the clearing and there she is how is this possible. She's screaming and crying I wish I could go to her oh moon Goddes why are you so cruel. she sat and cried for hours it broke my heart. When she finally got up to leave she stopped I realized too late that I had crept to close in my desire to comfort her. She saw me I thought for she se would be terrified and run but she came straight to me and held ot her hand. I gladly let her touch me I felt a bit guilty but I just felt so right. She sat with me and told me why she was sad. She told me about her kids, and her home. I wanted to meet her children if they were part of her I would love them no matter what. I couldn't do anything in wolf form but listen but that seemed ro be enough.

when she finally said goodbye it was too soon for me. I would return everyday in hopes of one more glance.

I returned to the clearing the next night fully expecting to never see her again. I didn't have to wait very long before I saw her pull up. She looked around as if she was looking for somthing, my heart leapt she couldn't be looking for me could she? As soon as she saw me she came straight to me completely unafraid, is it possible she knows what I am? I my wolf rolls on his back so she can scratch his tummy I just chuckle to myself.

She snuggles up against me and sits and talks to me for ages again. when she get up to leave I can't handle it I hear my wolf give a whine. I hear her say she is sorry but she has to get back to her kids. She keeps walking my wolf fallows and whines again big bad Alpha reduced to a baby. she says goodbye one more time and suddenly I don't know what came over me I shifted and asked her not to go.

END FLASHBACK

Allen's Pov

Arthur was sitting next to me while I drove home, telling me his half of what was aperently our story. I could scarcely belive it and I knew this had to be a dream. I would wake up any moment now. You know how everyone has that one crazy dream that will never happen but it makes them happy to think about. This is mine.

"I'm your mate?" I say unable to keep emotion out of my voice

"you don't want me I'm broken and I have 3 kids. no matter how much I want what your saying not to be a dream I could never leave them."

I saw a gentle smile spread across his face

" I know that, I have been listening intently these past couple of nights you know. I would never ask you to leave them. They may not be my children but if they are part of you they are part of me."

"you don't know them, or me for that matter how can you say that."

"you obviously know what I am do you know of mates."

"Only what I have read and I can't say how much is true."

"Most of what you read is true a mate is your life your everything. some may choose to reject a human mate especially one like you." He made a face at himself looked worried and hastelly added.

"Not that I see any issues with you,you are perfect. It is unheard of for a wolf to wait so long for a mate but here you are I am never letting you go."

"I'm still not sure but I do know I trust you." I said as I pulled up to my home.

"I really do have to go now." I said as I got out of the car.

He came around the car so fast I missed it placed his forehead against mine, I felt him slip somthing into my hand. He shifted and ran into the night I was worried at first but he was so black he dissaperaed almost instantly.

I sighed and went inside.
